MY HUSBAND AND I HIRED LEGAL TAX DEFENSE TO ASSIST US IN OUR TAX MATTER WITH THE IRS, IN DECEMBER OF 2016, AT THAT TIME I WAS IN CONTACT WITH *** AND SHE PROPOSED THAT OUR BEST DEFENSE WAS AN OFFER AND COMPROMISE. I SENT HER ALL OF THE PAPERWORK SHE STATED SHE NEEDED AND MADE MONTHLY PAYMENT OF OVER *** TO THIS COMPANY WHICH IN TURN WERE NOT REPRESENTED, WE FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS THAT THEY GAVE ON EVERY TURN THINKING THAT THEY KNOW BEST. A FEW MONTHS AGO, BY WAY OF MAIL WE RECIEVED A LETTER FROM THE IRS AS A NOTICE OF A TAX LEIN FOR NON PAYMENT AND RESPONSE. ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS THIS COMPANY STATED THAT THEY WOULD OFFER WAS TO PROTECT US AND ALTHOUGH WE STILL HAD MORE PAYMENT TO BE MADE THE THEM WE WERE MORE THAN 75% THERE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN PROTECTED AND IF WE WERE NOT GOING TO BE THEN WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED SO THAT WE COULD TAKE MATTERS INTO OUR OWN HANDS OR TAKE OUT BUSINESS ELSE WHERE. I HAVE SINCE REACHED OUT TO LEGAL TAX DEFENSE ADVISING WHAT TO DO NEXT AND THEIR ONLY RECOURSE IS TO GET ON A PAYMENT PLAN WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT I CAN OBTAIN ON MY OWN AND IT WOULD NOT COST ME ANYTHING, THEM HANDLING THIS PROCESS WOULD COST ME OVER $***.00 WHICH I DON'T BELIEVE IS FAIR. ESPECIALLY DUE TO THE FACT THAT MY FAMILY IS IN WORST SHAPE NOW THEN WHEN WE GOT IN TOUCH WITH THEM FOR HELP. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO THEM REQUESTING A REFUND BECAUSE THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING WITH OUR CASE, THEN WERE SUPPOSED TO TALK IT OVER AND GET BACK TO ME BECAUSE THEY AGREED THAT THEY FAILED US, CALLED BACK AGAIN AND STILL NOTING AND NOW IT HAS BEEN FOUR MONTHS AND STILL NOTHING. WHEN SPEAKING WITH THE IRS THE REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT NOTING WAS SUBMITTED ON OUR BEHALF BESIDES A POWER OF ATTORNEY DECLARATION, AFTER THAT WAS SUBMITTED NOTING ELSE WAS RECEIVED FROM LEGAL TAX DEFENSE. THIS MAKES ME FEEL VIOLATED AS IF THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM TO TAKE MONEY FROM PEOPLE BY MAKING PROMISES THAT THEY CAN NOT OR INTENT TO FOR FILL.

Legal Tax Defense has been corresponding with irs since 1-13-17 for Mr. & Mrs.. Work contracted for was completed. The dynamics of the clients financial situation. Per correspondence with irs supplying all requested financial documents to irs a resolution was met. We were able to successfully get the client out of collections and back on track.

Secured a penalty abatement of $355.20 on the account.
The agent threatening collection action on this case so I worked out a DDIA. The DDIA is for $383.00 a month. I pushed out the DDIA start date to 9/2017 ( that is two months away.)

The only thing that was done on this account was a payment plan that I put in place and Legal tax defense said that was a tactic to buy time and I was told not to pay it with the payments were due, any further action that they are saying they completed is false. And to my point if all things were worked out with the IRS then my husband and I would not have a Tax Lien as we speak. As I stated previously I paid over *** of money that I didn't have at the time to obtain tax help from this company and now we are worse of then we started. Since the tax lein, I have reached out to then and for all the money we have paid out all they can offer is a payment plan that I can do myself. This is robery and I feel as though my family is due a refund. I am currently in the process of working with the IRS on my own because I have no choice, this firm is a scam and is designed to rob people who are in need of real help with their tax debt, making promises that they know that they can not realistically produce. This is not ethical and they should be stopped. It does not cost $4,000 of time to obtain a payment plan with the IRS, when the client fills out all of the paperwork.
Above it states a payment plan was worked out for 9/2017 first that was last year and second I am already working on my own case at this point after you all failed my family and told me there was nothing you could do about the tax lein why would I continue to trust your company anymore with my life, maybe you don't understand that this is peoples lives that you are playing with and it's not okay at all. I am working with the IRS to have you removed as the power of Attorney on my case or you can kindly remove yourself at this point all I am requesting is a refund of what is sure to my family of $*** you may keep the rest for entering the power of attorney form and mailing off the paperwork for the payment plan I was told not to pay in 2017. So from the correspondence about since I filed this complaint legal tax defense hurried up to contact the IRS to get something in place to try to show that you did something, I cannot afford a payment plan of $383 a month and if this was supposed to be to help me, I would have been contacted in advance to see if that was something that worked for me before it was put into place, another addition to my point this firm is all out for self and taking peoples money, the best interest of the client is not apart of their concern because they are still putting my family in a bind this time to save their selves.
We've provided all the work associated with this complaint. We are disputing the nature of the complaint as a frivolous complaint due to substantial correspondence with irs. Our services were completed and are documented with irs.

I did not pay over $***.00 to be set up on a payment plan with the IRS that I cannot afford. The main reason help was sought out was due to Legal tax defense stating they could help my family resolve the IRS issue, as I stated at this point we are out of our money that we paid to them and are now in a worst status then we were when we started off. We have a tax lein and now they are offering us an unaffordable payment plan to cover their selves. This is unacceptable and it's not okay. As stated before, it does not cost over $*** for a payment plan we feel like we were robbed. It's so sad that programs say that they are out here to help you and their real mission is to take your money and leave you broke and in worst debt than you started. Scammers should not be allowed to practice. This is fraud and this so called business should be stopped!!

Had a successful, quick and smooth experience while having Legal Tax Defense take on my tax debt case. I had 9 years of back tax with what seemed like an equal amount of late penalty fees....LTD was able to get those fees removed for me and lower the amount I owe the IRS by over 10k....they make it look like a piece of cake to deal with the IRS..I was very lucky to have them fighting for me.

This company owes me a refund to my deposit. Services were never rendered, this issue started November 2017.
In November 2017, I received disturbing news from IRS on past taxes my ex was suppose to have taken care of and did not, unfortunately IRS came after me since we were married at that time and put a lien on my deceased sisters kids custodial acct that I was managing and took quickly took the money. In desparation I began calling for some legal help, I spoke to Mr., and received paperwork I signed but minutes later I was told from my broker that the money had already been removed. So as I sent the paperwork, not even 1 minute later I told Mr. it was too late the funds had already been withdrawn and that I would not need their services afterall. He understood and agreed to refund me the money he had so quickly charged my account. This was in November and I am constantly since then requesting my refund and again he says he's checking with accounting and nothing. This might not be allot to many but this is allot to me and my situation, and it has been stressful and unecessary. And what is suspect, is that as soon as I follow up I receive a text from Mr. saying to call him because he has an update on my case, which I cancelled verbally and in writing immediately. It's as if he has to justify why they are keeping my funds, but they have not spent more than the minute it takes to respond to my request for refund, no work has been done. At this point I don't know what to do and where to go and feel that everyone needs to know that this company can not be trusted. I have waited this whole time to write this trying to give them the benefit, because I understand how a review can affect a business image. But I would hate that they take advantage of anyone else's financial desparation to make money. My goal is to get a resolution and while I'm at it for this firm to realize that people could barely afford these services and unfortunately at times they very necessary and that should not be a reason to take advantage of consumers looking for help.
I seek my 400 refund plus for all of my time spent chasing what is right fully mine. You caused me financial strain for quite some time. I would like a monetary resolution enough to deter this behavior in the future with any one else. Or I will need to continue to warn innocent people just living paycheck to paycheck.
This complaint was resolved with the consumer. Her representative (***) was in and out of the office due to a family death. I have personally reached out to the client to ensure she is properly assisted and the issue is now resolved.

It feels great to know that I'm back in track in life again...having an IRS debt is exhausting and made me feel like I wasn't the person I wanted to be. Legal Tax Defense really helped me deal with my debt I had with the IRS. I was always updated, and saved money. I feel like that was the best decision I could have made, I don't know any other way I could get that taking care of without their help. I would tell anybody to call them instantly if they have an outstanding bill with the IRS.
