Review: I have been contacted by this company regarding a debt with a company I never had a credit card with, [redacted]. When I looked through my old bills, I found the credit card referenced on the intent to sue letter. The credit card ending in [redacted] is from a Credit Union called [redacted] Credit Union and in November of 2012 there was a civil case that I loss because I forgot to send in some paperwork that resulted me in paying a monthly payment for the settlement WHICH INCLUDED THIS CREDIT CARD. So now, I am being asked to pay again on the same debt or be sued. I don't see how this is legal to sue someone 2X for same debt they are already paying to the original issuer. In addition, I have been in contact with attorney [redacted] regarding bankruptcy and I am about to retain his services in the next 30 days. I have not received any court paperwork indicating I am being sued and again, this is already being paid on.
I almost went into a diabetic coma two days ago and was sent home from work to go to urgent care center, I have been unable to pay my copays for medications to keep me alive and I am being threatened of being sued on a debt I am already paying on?!!
My mom is dying from alzheimers as well and as I stated I am in the process of filing bankruptcy, this company failed to return my messages, I left 5-6 messages on Friday August 9th, no response.Desired Settlement: I want a copy of the charges I am being told I owe, I want to know why I am being asked to pay on this again when I am already doing so from the original card issuer. I want all threats of law suit stopped until I get proper notice of this debt and I should not be harrassed once I retain Atty [redacted] for bankruptcy.

Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry into your account.
We have not received any payments from anyone in regards to this account. You have told us that you were going to hire an attorney for BK when we spoke with you three months ago. We have yet to receive any notice that you have hired an attorney. Once you have hired an attorney and the BK is discharged this lawsuit will be dismissed. However, until we receive notice that your BK is discharged we will continue to move forward to recover the funds that you owe our client.
If you change your mind and want to set up affordable monthly payment please contact us to work something out.
Thanks,
Compliance Manager

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[I am pretty positive I am current paying on this debt, I am going to get the paperwork tonight ans send certified to your location. I am also going to provide you with the attorney that did the civil case, if it is determined it is NOT part of my repayment program, I will go online and make payments as I am able to each 2 weeks]
Regards,
