I purchased a house in July and was looking for an inspection company to perform an inspection prior to my purchase. I used Legacy Inspection in June 2019. They gave me an inadequate and false report of my home. Unfortunately, with my work circumstances, I was not able to personally attend the initial inspection or the final inspection. My inspection report did not detail any information about my roof leaking, flashings and vents being sealed with duct tape, severe wear and tear, rusted exposed nails, lack of gutters, or valleys being worn down to almost exposed wood. The only information I received on the roof was "inspected from ladder, asphalt shingles noted, flashing fair, vent caps fair, gutters fair". I have personally had two separate roof contractors out who have detailed information as well as pictures to show that my roof needs a complete replacement. The inspection came with a 5 year roof warranty for leaks, however, my claim has been denied by this company twice.
My inspection report also did not address any issues with wet wood in the attic, exposed wire boxes, live wire, and lack of insulation within my attic. The only things that my inspection report detailed was that the electrical was not accessible due to insulation. I have pictures of the lack of insulation, live wires exposed, and leaks in the attic. If they claim to be licensed inspectors, how can they have missed so many crucial elements of an inspection? I would have never purchased this home had the actual information been relayed to me on my inspection reports. I paid them $350 for the inspection and did not receive quality information. I have now called them weekly over the past two months about the roof warranty that was part of the inspection as well as an explanation on why these issues were missed. They do not answer phone calls and the voicemail box is full. They continue to tell me that they will call me back, but never do.
