Adam *. is not up front with what he claims to do. He came to my home approximately 6-8 weeks ago to give me an estimate on my Generac home back-up generator. Very cordial and polite. It came down to, buy a new generator or replace the alternator for about $800 plus labor. I opted to replace the alternator (which is actually a STATER). He said he would order one and get back to me in a week. Never heard from him, so I called and he told me that the part was no longer made, could not replace it. BUT...he could sell me a new generator as well as install it. I got on-line and found MANY parts available as well as alternators/staters.
The bottom line is, Adam puts himself out there as someone who can REPAIR generators. He is a Generac dealer. I ordered the part/alternator myself. That is NOT the problem with my generator. Now, I have to ship a 169# alternator back to the company at a heavy cost to me. What a waste of time and money. I don't want anyone else to be suckered in by him.
