I do not have insurance so I am self pay, which I expressed to Lee Obstetrics when I called to make and appointment. When I made the appointment over the phone I was told the cost of the visit was $150. When I arrived at my appointment I paid $150 at the time of the visit. A month later I get a bill in the mail for $50. I called the office and asked why I was receiving a bill because I was not told of any additional amount that would be owed when I made the appointment nor was I told there was even a possibility I would be billed for more money when I paid the $150 at the time of the appointment. The representative was incredibly rude and told me that they can't explain what they did or didn't tell me before but that I owed $50 in addition to the $150 I already paid. The representative could not offer an explanation as to why I wasn't told there was a possibility the visit would cost more money or why it costed more than what I'd already paid. When I asked why didn't they tell me any of this when I paid the $150 she said that the $150 was just a deposit on the visit and I owed $50. She never could tell me why I was being billed for more money because I would have paid the entire bill at the time of service if it was supposed to have been more than what they told me. I didn't get any issue resolved and now I have a $50 bill that will go on my credit report.

Billing Adjustment I want them to accept the amount I paid initially because that's how much they said the visit costed and they didn't mention any possibility of it costing more. I would've paid the whole $200 up front if they had told me it costed $200.
Our office requires a $150 deposit for a visit for a self-pay patient. We do not know on the front end how much a visit will be as we do not know what a patient's situation is or how it will be medically addressed. We then bill for any remaining balance on the visit. This is explained when the patient calls to make the appointment.
