Le Zinc Reviews (1)

Review: In September 2012, 4 of us dined at this restaurant. I ordered breaded oysters as an appetizer and as soon as I bit the first one, I heard a crack and there was an instant feeling of something being wrong in my tooth. I alerted the waiter who told the chef. He said that it is impossible for them to have stones/ objects in their oysters because they are bought pre-shucked in a bucket. that same night, I called my dentist and saw her the next day. There was a crack in my previously healthy tooth. This crack was such that it required a root canal (around $2000, I have receipts) and a crown. I was referred to an orthodontist who worked on my tooth that same day. The cost estimate for the crown was also around $2000. For monetary reasons and against the orthodontist opinion, I postponed the crown work until went to the Philippines and had the work done for $500. The orthodontist agreed to seal my tooth long enough to wait for the crown work. I wrote a letter to the restaurant, called, followed up etc. The owner referred me to the chef who promised to give $500/month but not in writing starting in March but I had not seen a penny. The owner called our home in April/May saying that business was slow and asked for consideration.I am without a tooth that was functioning before, had a bad appetizer, out about $2500, being deceived about getting reimbursed. Unfortunately, oysters may have little pearls in them that chefs should check for before serving. this was not done and I had to suffer and lose my tooth and spend money on something that was unplanned.Desired Settlement: I want them to pay for the root canal and the crown work.
