I have been waiting for a sleeper sofa to be delivered to Mattress Outlet since March 13, 2020. At the time my order was placed I gave this company a 300.00 deposit on the sleeper sofa. The store has been unable to contact the factory to find out when delivery to the store can be expected. I cancelled my order because I found another store to meet my needs. The sales person informed me that a 10% restocking fee of $82.00 would be deducted from my $300.00 deposit. There is nothing to restock because the sofa was never delivered. In my estimation this company is stealing $82.00 from me.
Also the sales representative treated me rudely and was hostile toward me.

Refund Because the Retail Store is unable to deliver the furniture as anticipated I should get my entire deposite back.
I am sorry to hear that Ms. R felt she did not get treated fairly and the country experienced a national crisis with covid 19 that our governor closed all retail stores including ours and all of us including herself had to deal with closures for a few months. The fact is Ms. R purchased a special order per her request of an item we do not have in regular stock and therefore it becomes a special order per her request we order it from the factory direct for her. The sales slip clearly reads the terms and conditions and 10% is the charge for canceled or returned merchandise, which she had done and admits it. It clears states and I quote the same slip she received from the time of special ordering the queen sleeper sofa that "special orders are not subject to cancellation". We felt as special treatment for Ms.R we would waive the written policy terms for special order for special people and just handle it as a "canceled item" and that means the 10% cancellation fee applies to her rather than holding her deposit of $300 dollars. I am assuming she gets extra special treatment for every transaction she deals with in her life but we wish she would acknowledge the special treatment we personally gave her as well! Not only is it written on the sales slip repeating the fact that special orders are NOT subject to cancellation but it is also very clearly written on the large sign at the sales desk for over 25 years now just to reinforce the policies here at the outlet. Ms. R is always welcomed back into the store for any future needs!
She failed to mention we sent a refund check immediately after she demanded a full refund and that check number was XXXXX dated a day after she was in the store. That day was June 29, 2020.

He is correct that it states clearly on the sales slip that cancelled orders require a 10% restocking fee. I am satisfied with my refund.
Locally owned for 25 years in a small downtown speaks volumes! All name brand lines and great delivery service. Highly recommended place.
