I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
*** ***if this was the case then why would they tell me they would fix it and not tell me they weren't going to fix it and tell me they were going to call to set up a appointment and the adjuster that was given to me said I should keep fighting it till they fix it right
We repaired the vehicle to the customer's satisfactionThey have picked up the vehicle and are pleased with the outcome
The re-inspection took place at our facility before the second pick upPlease feel free to confirm with the insurance adjustor directly
Review: Service dept broke a part during a transmission service saying it was rusty, called me about replacing it, I gave the ok to do that. When I went in to pay the bill they charged me full price for the part ($79.00) I said that I would split the difference, the service manager [redacted] Lawrence refused. He stated they did not charge me labor to replace the part. I said that they should not charge me labor for the part as they broke it not me and again offered to split the cost of the part and again he refused. I paid the bill then I called the President ([redacted] Lawrence) and explained the whole story and she refused also to split the cost.Desired Settlement: I feel that they should as least split the cost of the part. I understand about the weather here and agree on that, but they broke the part not me so it should have been installed at no cost to me and then at least split the cost with me. I felt that that would at least be a gesture of goodwill and would guarantee a return customer.

Response:
The customer brought in his truck for just a transmission service which involves dropping the transmission pan. The truck does have a good deal of rust on it and a bolt on one of the transmission mounts broke. It was not a matter of poor workmanship, it was just simply that the part was old and rusted. When we said we would split the cost with him I thought I was being generous by not charging for the labor and just charging for the part. I attached a picture of what the mount looks like, we still have the part here.

I am rejecting this response because: Lawrence Chevrolet does not care about customer goodwill. Of course they say they didn't charge me the labor which is true but how do I know if they could have been gentler with removing the part. Oh well, I see how they are and I will not return there for any further purchases or service. They lost a good customer over approximately $40.00.
