December 2, 2015 RE: Response to Makin’ Waves complaint ID: [redacted]
12pt;"> To Whom It May Concern, In response the complaint filed with the Revdex.com concerning the Makin’ Waves at Lake [redacted] house rental and agreement with [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] first contacted me on July 1st, 2015 in regards to a rental property I’ve listed on the VRBO website referred to as Makin’ Waves at Lake [redacted]. We communicated back and forth via e-mail concerning the [redacted] Fishing Tournament dates of 10/18/15-10/24/15 and the price breakdown prior to the reservation. The price included a boat trailer fee for 1 boat of $70. He claims he was planning to have 3 more but he only paid for one. There was no contingency concerning boat trailer parking in the contract he signed, however I’ve had a professional group of fishermen park four boat trailers on the property before. I even had a professional fisherman leave a favorable review on the website a few weeks ago for a November rental. On September 19th, Mr. [redacted] sent me an email claiming to have visited the rental house. He further indicated it wouldn’t be possible to fit the required number of boat trailers on the property, requesting a refund and a cancellation. I told him to contact VRBO about purchasing the trip cancellation insurance but I’m not sure if he did. My Cancellation Policy as listed in the Contract states: CANCELLATIONS No refunds will be given. The Renter may purchase Cancellation Protection Coverage through VRBO to provide peace of mind that if plans are complicated by the unexpected, your financial losses could be protected. This protection is available through VRBO night up until departure. If you have additional questions please don’t hesitate to call me. My phone number is: (864) [redacted]. Best Regards [redacted]
