I took in several pants to be taken in. The owner *** quoted me a price, said she would have them finished by the end of the month, which was 02/28/19, and I paid her in advance. The deadline came and went and she didn't have the pants ready. I called her several times throughout the year and paid her several visits to ask about my pants or the progress. She always had a lot of excuses and kept saying next week and next week. It's been a little over a year and I finally paid her a visit. She had not even started working on them. I picked them up and requested she return my money. She said she didn't have my money; that what she got paid went to her bank. I told her if she had any decency in her to mail me my money and left her my business card.
Product_Or_Service: Alterations
Refund I want my money back. I paid her $100 on 02/18/2019 for the service which she failed to perform.
came into my store on February 18, 2019. She brought in 7 pairs of winter pants, plus one sample pair. The pants needed repairs on the waist, length, pockets, etc. The total price added to $96.
She tried on each pair of pants while I attached safety pins to mark where the repairs were going to be made. It took me about 40 minutes to finish this process.
I told her the pick up date would be February 28, 2019 (10 days later), but she said that she'd come by in a month because she was losing weight.
Please note that we never agreed on a pickup date. She only said she'd come by in a month.
The month passed but she never called. I thought that maybe she didn't need those pants urgently since it was now summer.
Three months later, she came to the store upset, asking for her pants.
I told her, "I still don't have them yet. Since those pants are for the winter time, I thought she wasn't going to need them now. And since you were losing weight, we were going to wait."
I told her I'd have them in 15 days, but she mentioned she was going out of town, and that she would let me know when she'd come to pick them up.
The 15 days passed and she didn't come back, call.
About 3 months passed and she finally came to my store. She was very rude and once told me that I should just close my store and bring out her pants.
I worked on other clients' orders first because they were more simple repairs. I was waiting to get those orders out of the way to start working on her pants. I DID want to work on her clothes, but it was a complicated project. The other orders had specific due dates (Quinceaneras, weddings, graduations) that were more time sensitive. There was no specific due date for her order.
She came to the store about every 3 months. But, in October she started calling more often to tell me that it was about to be a year.
In January she called me again, and again on February 14th to let me know she was going to come by my store.
She came by. I was helping another client, and *** started complaining in front of that customer. She said that it had been a year and that I still had not returned her pants.
That client who witnessed it all has been a customer for a long time, and has now lost trust in me. One day, this client came back before the due date we agreed on to check on her clothes. She brought me another pair of pants for me to fix. But I feel she did this to test me, and to check on what I was doing.
*** finally picked up her pants on February 17th, demanding a refund. She snatched the pants from my hands and threw the hangers at me.
She refused to set up another due date because she "had gained weight" and the pants will not fit her anymore.
I told her that I couldn't give her the money back because I had already invested about 40 minutes in applying safety pins the day she first came in.
She didn't agree, because according to her, that wasn't the deal. She even told me to go to my neighbors so I could borrow the $100. Which in reality was $96.
I wanted us to agree on a price for the time I had already spent on her, but she didn't let me speak. She left me her business card so that I could send her the $100 to her address.
For the next few days, I began to receive letters from the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, from the Revdex.com, and a threatening angry hand-written letter along with a stamped envelope so that I could send her the money.
I have attached copies of all the letters I've received, including her letter hand-written letter.
I am willing to respect any decision you make and follow your instruction.
Sincerely
Thank you for forwarding this business response to me. It's all lies. In order to perform her job, *** had to take the measurements. I dropped off the pants on 2.18.19 and she said she would have them ready by 2.28.19. The total charge was $96. I paid her $100 but she didn't have change, so she said she would give me the $4 when I picked up my pants.
I repeatedly called her to inquire about my pants and she would always give me excuses after excuses. I paid her a few visits to check on the progress of the repairs and she would simply say she was busy and would get to them. Throughout the 12 months of waiting for her to do what was agreed on, I was never rude and simply asked her to.please finish the job. Finally in the beginning of the year she said that she had hired a new tailor and would have my pants finished within a few days but again nothing. I finally showed up to pick up my pants and request my money. She said she didn't have it. I suggested she asked a neighbor business for a loan because I had paid her in good faith and she failed to do her job. I left her my business card since I'm in real estate and told her that if she had any decency, she would mail me my money. Obviously she doesn't have any ethics or decency. She owes me a full refund of $100 since she failed to do her job.
If she lost any business it's not because of me, it's because of her poor ethics and mediocre work ethics.
I demand she refund my money.
