The client wanted us to install a piece of gear he purchased off the internet.  This puts us in a position of having to warranty a piece of gear that may or may not be functional.  Worse, it goes against our dealer agreement with the manufacturer and could cause them to cancel our dealership.  When we told the client that we were unwilling to install the equipment, he tried to extort us by demanding a refund of the money he paid months earlier.  This original work met or exceeded his expectations and was less expensive than we originally proposed, so his demand was unreasonable.  I offered to connect him with other excellent dealers but he wasn’t interested.

I attempted during several emails and phone calls to convince the client that two technicians doing the job in half the time was a good deal for him.  The programming he wanted was completed in less time than we estimated. We also fixed his front door lock at no extra charge. In my opinion...
