I have included the email exchanges between myself and Latinitas. In the beginning I was offered a refund, and was told that they were waiting on new checks to arrive before sending me the refund. I didn't hear anything back for about a week and inquired again. This time I was told they are not able to provide a refund due to financial difficulty, and offered other ways. The alternatives are not acceptable to me because the new location is not conducive for me anymore.
As I have stated in the email exchanges - my daughter and I did go to the camp site, and WALKED into the building and asked for the business in question. The other tenants told us that they had moved over the weekend. My child does not want to attend a camp there after this incident, because she does not have a favorable impression of the business at this point.
I have not been rude or unreasonable at any time. If you were to read our email exchanges, I have been civil and patient. If you read the emails dated April 7th, the business has every intention to not refund me, which left me with no choice but to report it.
I hope you will find this in my favor and advise accordingly.
We are a non-profit and like many right now hit hard by the economic downtown. As a result, I have a mostly volunteer staff and so I apologized about the location information error. Parents were directed from the old office site to our new campsite 2--3 miles from the complainant's residency...
east instead of south of her home. The complainant brought her daughter to the camp and decided not to let her come in the door. I offered a refund in a number of ways - a free summer camp spot, paid off in parts as we haven't received the money from the pay platform until this month and the complainant went forward and filed this complaint instead of working with what we could do. I'm not obligated to provide a refund to someone who just decided not to come. I was trying to work with her.
