Review: On November 11, 2008, I purchased 8 Lansing windows through [redacted], a contractor (who is no longer available). Three of these windows have crazed and visibility has been greatly reduced. I contacted the company through a web search. The next day, Sept 19, 2014, a sales manager, [redacted], wrote to tell me what information I needed to provide to get warranty replacements. I was required to go to the company's site in Richmond to pick up the three windows, which (after many inquiries on my part), were ready on Nov 10, 2014. A friend made this trip of more than two hours for me, and when the windows were delivered, it was immediately obvious that one window was incorrect. The paperwork attached to it showed that it was for another contractor's job. I informed [redacted] of this.
Due to my schedule and the weather, I could not install the replacement windows until Dec 26, 2014. I discovered that neither one was the correct size. I complained on the Lansing [redacted] page and was contacted by [redacted]. She, in turn, followed up with [redacted] to have him contact me. She told me the windows would be ready the second week of January. Having heard nothing from [redacted] by Jan 14, I again contacted [redacted] contacted me on Jan 15 and told me that he would call the Richmond office to see if the sash was ready and would call for a time for pick up. I responded that I assumed [redacted] told him that all three windows need replacing. He has not replied.Desired Settlement: Given that the first three windows were not correct, I would like the company to deliver the three windows and install them to insure that they are the correct size. Installation takes about 5 minutes each, so this is not an onerous commitment of time, and [redacted] has already stated that he would deliver the window (now windows) on a Friday or Saturday when I can arrange to take off from work. I would like the windows delivered and installed on a day when I can take off from work, and for the work to be completed by Jan 31, 2015.

Revdex.com Case # [redacted] Responding to Complaint ID #[redacted] filed January 17 listing Lansing Building Products as respondent. As noted in the customer’s statement the issue involves a warranty matter. Lansing Building Products is a wholesale-distributor selling to professional contractors and therefore did not deal with or sell directly to the complainant. Also, by virtue of being a distributor, all warranties are the responsibility of the manufacturer, passed on to our customers and ultimately to the homeowner. Additionally none of the associates named in the customer’s statement are employed by Lansing Building Products; they are all employees of the manufacturer. As these statements and facts demonstrate, Lansing Building Products is not directly involved or responsible in any way in this warranty matter. That being said, Lansing Building Products has contacted the manufacturer in this matter to join with the homeowner requesting satisfactory resolution be reached in a timely fashion. It is our understanding their corporate office is committed to completing this warranty issue by the second week of February. Lansing Building Products extends its thanks to the Revdex.com for informing us of this matter and for your continued efforts promoting and ensuring sound, ethical business practices. [redacted]
