I sprayed the weeds today and will remove them later in the week when they die off. They are definitely growing on top of the weed barrier and not through and this is a good gesture not an admittance of poor workmanship.

They have assured me they are working on the weeds and the drain - additionally drilling some holes to make the standing water clear (as well as screwing in the top cover so it doesn't keep disappearing)
