Land Rover in my opinion knowingly sold me a lemon 3 months ago. Today I was told that I need 1800.00 worth of engine workI wanted to share this information with you before I shared it with the world. I purchased a [redacted] from Land Rover of Cary in August of this year. I decided when looking for a car that I would purchase from a reputable dealer as I would get a quality vehicle. After buying the car on a Friday, over that weekend the car started making a rattling noise in the muffler, when bringing it to Land Rovers attention; they did agree to replace the muffler at no charge, which I was appreciative of. I had the car inspected at [redacted] before I bought it, a part of your group as well. I bought the car with 4 borderline tires and 300.00 work of valve work on the engine that I paid for after buying the car, along with new brake pads. My check engine light came on today, 11/21/14, so I took the vehicle to [redacted] who advised that I needed a crank engine sensor and approx. 1800.00 of engine work. The sensor cost me approx. 350.00usd, I decided to wait on the manifold intake work. I don't think that this type repair just shows up 3 months later. I know I bought the car as is, but for [redacted] to put a car on your lot to sell with as many problems as I have had with this vehicle leads me to believe that you have absolutely no regard for your customers. Once the paperwork is signed, it's your problem, we got your money. It should be a crime for you to sell a vehicle knowing it has that many problems. [redacted] I am sure has access to state of the art diagnostic equipment, so you can hook your cars up and see what your future customers might encounter, and if you find that problems like mine could be possible, I would think you would not put that vehicle on your lot for sale. It is a shame. I will be sharing my story with others and on social media; I know nothing in life is free, because I work for a living, but for a company as big as yours to sell vehicles like the one I bought, in good faith, with really no regard for the customer in my opinion, it should be a crime. Thanks for helping me make the worse decision ever. I would appreciate a response to this letter, but if I don't receive one, it would not surprise me at all. I cannot say enough about the way he handled this issue. I am more than satisfied at this point with everything and the way it was handled. Kudos to [redacted], Land Rover GM, and his team. Much appreciated.
