Review: on 6/21/2013 I purchased a used 2012 gmc yukon xl from lakeland auto after one week called to find out where registration was. informed in mail to title company. next week same thing in mail. next week must be lost was the answer. following week I noticed paint on truck was bad and still no paperwork on title or registration they aere looking into getting new title. now day 37 after talking to the wisconsin dmv and my bank asked them to take truck back and I could buy a different truck if they had one since they still have no title for truck on original truck I bought. they did not like my offer and said they would not take truck back. I think they are trying to cover something up with this truck I bought which needs to be repainted. they never showed me the title for the truck at time of purchase and I wonder if they ever had it. it is my understanding that in the state of wisconsin the tile has to be on the premisis when sale is made and I never seen it or was offered to see it.Desired Settlement: would like them to take truck back , refund my down payment and pay off the bank loan. I will no longer consider buying different truck from them they had their chance.

Response:
Lakeland Auto's position on this matter is that it is a case of the title being lost in the
mail after it was sent from Lakeland to the titling agency (Locks Titling Svc.) in Illinois
(see copy of the title attached). Due to the fact that Mr. [redacted] is from the state of Ilinois
(where the vehicle would be titled), and Lakeland Auto arranged the financing for Mr.
[redacted], Lakeland uses the service of a titling agency to properly file and title the
paperwork. Lakeland has contacted OM Auction HQrs from where the vehicle was
purchased by Lakeland~ and a dupJicate title is in the process of being sent to us.
Lakeland Auto has also been visited by an investigator of the Department of
Transportation ofWiscoDsin in regards to this matter and he concurs that there is no
vvrongdoing on the part of Lakeland and is satisfied with the steps we have taken to
obtain a duplicate title. The paint issue that Mr. [redacted] states is news to me and therefore I
am unaware of any such defect. Mr. and M.ts. [redacted] both physically drove and inspected
the vehicle prior to purchase and inspected the Car Fax and Auto Check reports, again.
prior to purchase. Lakeland's position is that we do not feel it is warranted that we take
the vehicle back from the [redacted]'s. If there is truly a paint issue with the vehicle. Mr. [redacted]
can take it to any OM dealer for repair as the vehicle is still under warranty. We hope to
have the duplicate title shortly and will proceed with the proper registration process.
