I used Hanover insurance through LMCU, and just got a call from a collections agent to collect $548.00. This issue has been going on for quite some time, and I'm confident any recordings they have on the matter would reflect that. I went through a divorce last September, and during that time I created a new policy for my car, and cancelled the policy my ex-wife's vehicle had through them. They apparently never cancelled her policy, and further, left it in my name. When I called (for probably the 3rd time), they said the policy was eventually cancelled for non-payment (despite never making me aware). This policy is in her name online, and should not even involve me. The reason I was given as to why my name was sent to collection is "I as on the policy at one time". They are "looking into" the issue now to see if there is anything they can do. At this point, if they don't get it resolved by the end of the day it will hit my credit. Bear in mind, I was made aware that I'd been sent to collections about 30 minutes ago. This is absolutely absurd, and realistically is borderline theft. They continue to charge me for policies I am not even on, and that I was told were cancelled.
