Dr *** told me I needed dentures. There is no way I could pay for them. The receptionist handed me a brochure from Care Credit. But I knew I would not qualify. My credit was not good. I worked hard for months and raised my FICO from about 395 to 719. The brochure was awesome describing having 24 months to pay it off interest free. I got approved instantly and I called to proceed. After having my teeth removed I discovered that it was NOT interest free but about $60 a month from the way the office set it up. There was no way I could afford it. I first went to the doctor because he was the approved dentist by the Veterans Administration. I was living in VA Housing and he was the dentist that worked on my teeth. I am now in my own apartment but get VA Section 8 housing assistance. Then after all my teeth have been pulled I found out she has never used Care Credit before and knows nothing about it. The receptionist stated that "everyone just pays with a credit card or a check". I am NOT a resident of Westlake Hills where the office is located and she knows I am a down on his luck Veteran without those assets. I have my VA Social Workers who was witness to all conversations. I am left toothless without dentures and can't proceed until I get this paid off.
