My review is in regards the the price increase for La Junta, Colorado electricity bill, specifically the sanitation increaseAt the beginning of January 2016, our rates were raised 12-dollars and am now paying a total of $(just for sanitation) to have my trash picked up and dumpedI called to get an explanation, however I was told there was a committee who votes on the price increases and there was nothing I could doWe also never received a letter or any indication that there would be a price increase, which in my opinion is pretty outrageous and ridiculous
This utility company is super shady in their ethics and business practices. They have two charges for the same electricity service and they can not explain why we get charged twice on every bill for one service, not to mention they are a monopoly and charge double that of other city utilities. I have lived in many places and the charges here in La Junta are the worst and the city has nothing to offer to make that extra charge worth it. Then to add insult to injury if you want to pay your bill with debit/credit cards they give you a surcharge of $5.00 for every $100 that your bill is, and I read that this is illegal in the state of Colorado. The entire town's bills all almost doubled last month and when you called in about it they blamed it on going digital and otherwise could not explain why everyone's bill was so extremely high. I asked for an explanation in writing but conveniently the only person who could do that was never there I was told. This company should be audited.
My review is in regards the the price increase for La Junta, Colorado electricity bill, specifically the sanitation increase. At the beginning of January 2016, our rates were raised 12-13 dollars and am now paying a total of $42.37 (just for sanitation) to have my trash picked up and dumped. I called to get an explanation, however I was told there was a committee who votes on the price increases and there was nothing I could do. We also never received a letter or any indication that there would be a price increase, which in my opinion is pretty outrageous and ridiculous.
