LJ Sourcing was hired to help [redacted] develop and find a manufacturer for his shoe/insole idea. We worked through many different ways to help him get a working prototype of the insole. We also hired a local subcontractor to help us figure out the "inside" materials. We found several factories...

that could make the shoe but not the insole. Unfortunately, not all ideas are manufacturable. The client has a great idea and it sounds simple on the outside but without breaking confidentiality, the manufacturing process at a factory is not possible. We spent many more hours and resources than what was contracted by the client to help him figure out the process and find a manufacturer. We would all like to believe that our ideas can be manufactured but there currently is not the means or technology to manufacture his idea. All the factories came back to us stating that they could not do what we were asking of them. We offered to continue to talk to new factories at our own cost in 2014 but at this point we cannot continue to put money into this project without payments for our work.
The client wants all of his money back, we feel this is very unfair seeing that we have worked very hard at finding him the right manufacturer and trying to figure out how to have the product manufactured. Our contract with him states that he will receive "50% of any unused portion of the Retainer shall by returned to Client...of the effective date of such termination". All his retainer and much more has been used to develop and source a manufacturer. Our contract also states on the Scope of Work page that we will find "foreign shoe manufacturers and 2-3 prototypes and/or factories", we have talked to 21 factories, only one would agree to make the prototype. This factory failed twice in their attempts to make a working prototype.
The client has also accused LJ Sourcing Agency Inc of not being a corporation. This is false, we were incorporated April 26, 2012, file number [redacted]. As stated on the Secretary of the State of Idaho website (http://www.accessidaho.org/public/sos/corp/search.html), we are in "Goodstanding". Before that time the company was registered "assumed business name" with the State of Idaho on February 4, 2009.
