I parked my car to check some rental properties. There were 2 leasing companies. I parked the car in front of [redacted] apartments. As I realized the first apartment I wanted to check belongs to [redacted] apartment, I called [redacted] and asked if I should move my car to their parking lot and whether it would be towed. I was told that I could just leave my car there and walk down the drive way and nothing would happen to my car. After I got back to my car in 10 minutes, I found my car to be booted and a $75 bill. I asked why and was told because I parked my car in front of [redacted] As I did plan to check the apartments both of [redacted] and Brookwood, I asked why I would still be booted. The guy at the parking lot from L.E.D. Service said he saw kme walking to [redacted] when I left my car. I asked why he did not warn me not to park there if it was not legal. He said his responsibility was to boot and collect money and not to warn people. His phone number is XXX-XXX-XXXX. I then walked into [redacted] and asked if they could waive the $75 as I was going to check their apartments anyway. The manager said as long as I did not walk into Darlington directly from my car, or I did not walk directly to my car after I left [redacted] my car would always be booted. I feel this is like a set-up trap that robs people. During the 10 minutes I was there, the cars of another elderly lady and an elderly gentlemen were both booted. It certainly seems to be an extremely fast and easy way to make money, in a very indecent way, through collaboration of the rental property company and L.E.D. Services
