I had taken my vehicle in for an oil change and my car was damaged
I needed an oil change and took my car to Kwik Lube. While they were doing the oil change the owner said that they could not do the oil change until the air filter, power steering fluid and several other items were changed first. I had the extra money and told them to proceed. The bill was paid and I drove my car out. However while trying to turn the steering wheel the car started to make a squealing noise. I took the car back and they said we will look at it and then said they fixed it. While going to school The noise returned and got worse. I called February 17 and the owner said bring it in and I will fix it. I brought it in and he immediately said there was nothing he could do and that he did not damage the car. At this point I have 200.00 in this and the car is still not repaired. A mechanic noticed that the bolt on the poser steering was not only loose but stripped as well.
What I want is for him to repair the car as he promised . If he does not Then I will file a formal complaint with the Texas Attorney Generals office. I would like the Revdex.com to help me get this resolved before I file with them.
To the owner of the vehicle, we apologize for the inconvenience your having, but I will tell you we do not and did not force you to get any extras done to your vehicle, this practice as you accuse us of, has never taken place in that form. although you did agree to proceed with our recommendations that were said to you AFTER the oil change was done. the power fluid exchange did take place. and yes we flushed it a second time because of the whining it started after you left, but soon after calmed down to a silent after it was done. you then came back and said you were hearing a noise and then told me the mechanic said the tensioner pully was lose (we do not touch this part- as it only adjust the belt)I explained to you that all we did is exchange your fluid and I also told you to go to a mechanic I knew and get a second opinion. You then added that it makes a clicking noise when you turn and observed the vehicle, all your struts are blown considering your vehicles body is below your tire line (ford taurus) and said that may be the reason and your cv axels may need to be replaced. and in regards to your mechanic saying your "power steering bolt is not only lose but stripped" we do not unassembled any parts while doing this service EXCEPT the power steering cap. I will be more than happy to talk to your mechanic.
thank you for reaching out to us.
have a great day.
