When I asked this business to stop work due to the hours they charge they became upset and locked me out of the business even though my items was paid in full and they owed me money back. They tried to make me sign a non disclosure which I refused and had to get a law enforcement office to come out and get my items which was laid out side. The release form they had me sign outside of the gate this way I had no way to take inventory of my items to make sure they was all there which they were not. The biggest problem I have is my parts that they lost or used on another car and the non disclosure which in my mind is pretty shady.
In regards to Mr ***’s complaint against KTL Restorations Inc:Mr *** brought his vehicle to us to have corrected sheet metal and body work, along with paint work performed, after pulling the car from a former shop that did not repair the vehicle properly, nor to the clients satisfaction. An agreement between the client and KTL Restorations Inc was signed July 2017. Mr *** sent written correspondence on November 21st, 2018 that he would like to stop work on the vehicle and retrieve it, and did not give reasons as to why he was stopping work. We told him that we hated to hear it, but we would gather parts and vehicle, along with final paper work and send all to him for review, then set up a time for pick up. All emails will be forwarded to the Revdex.com along with the final paperwork sent for review and the 75 photos of vehicle and inventory. Please see all emails that will be forwarded to the Revdex.com address. We informed Mr *** that he would have to coordinate logistics for retrieving the vehicle, due to the current condition, and he would also be responsible for loading, as KTL would not be liable for damage done to an unfinished, unsecured chassis during transport. The vehicle would be pulled outside of our shop, do to liability of a client loading parts inside of our facility. Mr *** was also informed prior to arrival, that an other parties with him, would need to sign a waiver of liability to retrieve the property, due to condition of vehicle, condition of engine (still on KTL engine stand). Again, all papers and documents were sent to Mr *** prior to pickup, including 75 photos of property and photos for inventory review. Mr *** did not review photos prior to arrival on property and had to be shown that they were sent in the email. At stated above, please refer to all correspondence per emails. When Mr *** and another gentlemen arrived to pick up the property, the gates to the business were closed (which was also communicated by email from KTL prior to arrival) and we met him at the gate with documents, which included his final “stop of work” addendum that required signature before loading his vehicle. Mr *** signed the document along with the waiver, but not prior to both KTL and Mr *** calling the sheriffs department at his request. He did decline signature of non-disclosure, which we cannot make him sign, but did ask him to sign for the protect of both his personal interest and ours. The deputy told us that this was a civil matter, and Mr *** would have to take further action through an attorney if we could not come to an agreement. Mr *** signed the documents necessary, and retrieved his belongings. This was not at the orders of a deputy. The deputy was called to keep peace among all parties. Mr *** has also accused us of having parts that we do not have, and had time to review and question any inventory that he felt was missing prior to picked At no time was KTL Restorations Inc “get upset” about Mr *** pulling his vehicle. The client broke contract and we presented ending of job paper work and final signing of retrieving his property.
Response to complain as well as all corresponding emails have been forwarded to [email protected]. Please see attached contract signed by former client and also signed paperwork at time of pickup.
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
