Review: contractor was hired as a licensed contractor to repair sidewalk. Agreement was to complete job in 3 days. Upon starting job, contractor requested deposit which was given in the form of a check for fifteen hundred dollars but he refused the check and stated that he needed cash to buy materials. Contractor refused to cash check at bank which was only across the street. I then made a withdrawal and gave him the cash money. He signed the receipt as L. S[redacted] and when I asked him if that was his name he replied yes. I then ask him to produce his license and the work permit he was supposed to have but his reply was that he did not have it but he would retrieve it and return in two hours. He tore up the sidewalk and left it a mess and never returned. I am yet to see the contractor or my money. This is false advertising and deceptive practice and I would like him to return my money.Desired Settlement: I would like to get my money back because contractor lied. He told me he was licensed. I needed a licensed professional to complete job. Deceptive practice should not be condoned.
