We hired this company to do architectural drawings for our home. We were led to believe by the owner that they were architects, which, in fact, they are not. After many planning meetings and emails, as well as a thorough visit to our home to take measurements and assess options for design, a final drawing was done with two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a laundry room. Throughout construction when we had questions or issues, we contacted this company to discuss, and were frequently met with rudeness and disinterest. Part way through construction once we had our plumbers come out, it was noted that we did not, in fact, have adequate sewage lines to accommodate the new bathroom, and unfortunately, short of jackhammering the floor of our finished basement and excavating our front lawn, we would not be allowed the bathroom (according to code). I phoned the owner of the company and was met with a multitude of excuses and dismissal of my concerns. He informed me that he would look into the issue and call me back. I phoned him five days later when I had not heard back, and he was co side table rude to me about how busy he was. He assured me he would call me back in a day. Two days later I phoned again and was addressed rudely and told that he would contact me later. I finally had a response this afternoon. He would not take any responsibility for the issues, tried to place blame on me for the issue, and then blamed the various contractors. He offered me $150, which I declined, as it doesn't appropriately compensate for the problem. I would also like to note that our architectural drawings had errors on the roof design, which had to be fixed by other contractors.
We are seeking a refund of 50% of the fees we paid ($2930 total, so $1465 refund), payable in either a gift card or cash (not a credit for their business).
