I went to Klamath open door dental to ask when I would get my lower plate as I have already waited 2 years. They told me that it would be another 2 years before I could get it. I have been trying to eat without a lower plate all this time. They claim that they don’t have enough dentists to handle all of the patient needs and yet when I looked at their list on their website I counted 11 dentists. They tend to serve Mexican nationals before serving the American people. I am considering changing doctors and dentists because of this action.
Hello,
Please allow this email to serve as Klamath Health Partnership’s official response to complaint *** Please let me know if any further information or documentation is needed. As this is a sensitive issue related directly to patient care, I have no included specific names, but some patient events have been included.
The complainant began receiving dental care at Klamath Health Partnership (KHP) in May 2019 and a treatment plan for a prosthetic began in June 2019. While KHP does have a waiting list for full dentures, which may be as long as two-years, the complainant’s treatment plan is not for full dentures. We apologize for any miscommunication that may have occurred; there would not be a two-year wait from the beginning of a treatment plan to the delivery of prosthetics. At the time of this complaint, the patient had been seeking care with our organization for eight months and during this period rescheduled or no-showed several appointments.
At the time the patient established care we had a staff of three dentists and five registered dental hygienists, all of whom are listed on our website (www.klamathopendoor.org). Unfortunately, our current website still lists three departed dentists due to delays in the development of our new website (www.klamathopendoor.com). KHP has never employed more than three dentists during the period in question.
KHP strives to provide effective, timely, and affordable care and would be willing to continue care if the patient were to return to our center for care.
Klamath Health Partnership is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and provides accessible, culturally sensitive, affordable and quality-driven patient-centered health services to the community. KHP serves all patients that walk through our doors regardless of race, ethnicity, language, income, or immigration status.
Thank you,
