I purchased a Tonkinese back in June 2016 from Kittentanz Cattery in Jasper, GA. I have dealt with indeterminable scratching with this cat since the day I picked him up (mites, food allergies, environmental allergies). I thought I was purchasing a healthy cat but I have spent an enormous amount of money trying to diagnosis or manage the cats scratching. I specifically went to a breeder since I wanted a guaranteed healthy cat with certain characteristics. I've gotten neither in this cat. In order to manage his scratching, I have to give him steroid shots every 4-6 weeks, which is slowly damaging his liver. This has been a very costly and disappointing experience. So much so, that I will never purchase another breeded cat again. I will take my chances at the local shelter if and when I decide to get another cat.
Sire: Cadbury
Dam: Coda
Just to note that Mr. did pay for Ivermectin treatments but that only temporarily solved the problem with my cat. My vet believes the cat has seasonal allergies versus the demodex mites as originally diagnosed by the breeder's vet.
