Review: I went to lunch with two co-workers and we ordered lunch and beverages. For the beverages, we ordered two lemonades. When I tasted it, it was clear that it was spoiled. I had my friend try hers, and it was also spoiled. I asked the waiter to please remove it from the check and he did without an issue. The manager then proceeded to come over and prefaced the confrontation with an apology for the lemonade, but then asked me if I've ever even had lemonade before- implying that I had no idea what I was talking about. It was awkward and inappropriate because the only thing I asked was that it was removed from the check. He was defensive about it, which is unprofessional. Then our lunch came out. I ordered chicken and waffles. I ate half of it and discovered what appeared to be a pubic hair in my fried chicken. I couldn't find the manager to say anything about it, so we paid our bill and left. Furthermore, if I had found the manager, considering the lemonade incident, I was afraid that this would only exacerbate his negative attitude. This is a formal complaint about customer service relations AND hygiene. I have been in the hospitality industry for over 15 years. This kind of treatment of guests is unacceptable and so is finding pubic hair in my food. I have photo evidence of this, as well as a copy of the paid check.Desired Settlement: A refund would be appreciated for bad service and bad food. For the record, our server was great. The bad service was given by the person that called himself the manager. At the very least, this should be brought to the attention of the owners. This business is located in the Columbia University area and I would hate to bring this information to the attention of people at the university that frequently order from here for big events.
