Kirkpatrick's Construction

Review: I have a contract with Kirkpatrick's Construction which is paid in full and includes a 3 year warranty. The contractor constructed a garage on my home, and he has not completed the garage or obtained the final inspection required by the [redacted] County building permit. The scope of the contract also included work on the front door, including installation of an [redacted] storm door and replacement of the [redacted] sourround at the door. They delivered the storm door, which is still in the box and has not been installed. The [redacted] was selected with the contractor, but has not been delivered or installed. Interior trim which was installed around the inside of the front door has not been finished. The crown molding installed in the front foyer, kitchen and bedrooms has separated at numerous seams. My existing plantation shutters at the front bay window were taken down and reinstalled around a new bay window. The reinstallation of the plantation shutters was not adequate, and the whole shutter mount is falling off; also, the shutter panels won't close properly from damage to the magnetic closures . The contractor's lockbox is still around the exterior front door knob and needs to be removed.Desired Settlement: Complete the garage to include satisfaction of [redacted] County building permit; complete the [redacted] and front door installations both interior and exterior; seam the crown molding; secure the planation shutters at the front bay window. Additionally, the warranty needs to be provided in writing.

Review: The company had a signed contract for a renovation project in our residence, abandoned the job after collecting most of the monies and failed to respond to repeated requests to return to the job. We had to incur in substantial losses to finish the job ourselves, the company did not fulfill payment obligations to subcontractors, we had mechanics lien placed against our property causing additional lawyers expensesDesired Settlement: Refund of the money collected from us without delivering the contracted services.
