Went in for transmission service. King Transmission stated that I needed another transmission. That the original transmission needed to be exchanged. Price would be $3,299. Took it in monday september 23rd and was fixed friday september 27th with a new price of $3,385. Frank initially quoted me and stated that another transmission would be installed. Went to king transmission to pay and Rich stated that another transmission had been installed. When I noticed that a serial number had not been included of the replacement transmission on the receipt. I called on Saturday September 28th and was given the run around, stating that no one ever asks for that information. I spoke to Rich on Monday September 30th and he could not produce the information which is a common thing to include. I was charged for another transmission but they only worked on the original transmission. but charged me for the price of another transmission, stating that they had installed it.This was not the case. I want my $3,385 returned and half of the labor cost, since the labor was for worked done to the existing transmission and not labor for a replacement transmission and installation transmission.

Customer came to our shop on 10/5/19 and we explained that specific serial numbers are never included on the transmission invoices we purchase, nor for transmissions we install, which has always been the standard industry practice.
Contrary to the customer’s opinion, transmission specific serial number information is NOT a “common thing to include.” Indeed, we have been servicing over fifty vehicles per week (thousands per year) for over 60 years and serial numbers on transmissions have NEVER been included on any invoices we install or receive, nor have we ever heard of such information being provided by any other independent shop or service dealership.
We take pride in the quality of our work and how we treat our customers, so we don’t take it lightly when we are accused of fraud, lack of work ethic and criminal behavior. Customer’s accusation that “we charged him for another transmission but only worked on his original transmission” is FALSE.
Accordingly, on 10/5/19 we showed the customer his old transmission that we replaced and even had him take pictures of it so he can confirm it was the same transmission that was in his car when he left it with us. Furthermore, we provided him a copy of the receipt of the transmission unit that we purchased and installed in his vehicle.
The transmission we installed in the customer’s vehicle works properly and he had no further complaints. We explained that our guaranteed work saved him thousands of dollars (about 50%) from what the dealership would have charged for the same service.
We told him we would be happy to provide him with any other information he needs. Customer appeared to be satisfied and he left on good terms, therefore we consider this issue to be fully resolved.
