Kimberly Resnick Anderson Reviews (%countItem)

It took me a big step to recognize that I needed help from a professional therapist, that despite having awareness of my psychological issues I have not been able to overcome my traumas on my own. I came across online to an alternative primal therapy that I thought could help me, but since it was unlicensed and unregulated, I was concerned about its therapeutic value.
Upon talking to this alternative therapist first time explaining my upbringing issues, she mentioned that she no longer does analyses or "conventional" psychotherapy( despite having a PHD in psychology with no license) , that she has specialized on her field of operation, but she mentioned that she could refer me to a therapists, a friend of her in /North Hollywood, but stopped short of telling doctor's name because she said it would be too distant from my home (110 miles round trip).
In this alternative therapist web site, I came across Dr. *** podcast interviewing her about her alternative therapy style posting a question mark whether it was of psychological help, value or something else. I thought that Dr. *** would be the person for me to consult with due to her apparently knowledge on the subject and to make sure that what I was pursuing was healthy and therapeutic in nature.
After coming back to the alternative therapist for another session, I mentioned that I had scheduled an appointment with Dr. ***, the doctor who had interviewed her . She said that Dr. *** was her friend and made a point for me to tell Dr. *** that she was the one who made the referral, not my own online research on both Dr. *** and her friend's web site.
Upon having my first interview evaluation with Dr. ***, I was very open and willing to do my best to go through a conventional, licensed and regulated psychotherapy recognizing that I need professional help. Quite a surprise that Dr. *** did not take responsibility for her podcast interviewing this alternative provider saying that it was unlicensed and unregulated business that she could not monitor it and that it was up to the free citizen do whatever he wants. I was not only a free citizen, but becoming her patient who came to her because of her podcast on the controversial subject .
She wanted to proceed with her therapy, but gave no guidance or "judgment" about my activities on her friend's place. I felt that part of the purpose I looked for her was not filled. I wanted to make sure the activities I was going through remained therapeutic and healthy, but she said it was up to me... I felt disappointed about it not understanding why a licensed doctor give air time on her podcast to such business and many other without issuing at least warnings , guidance, which for the private citizen or patients with psychological issues could have disastrous consequences...
In the beginning I could not see the whole picture and I believed in Dr. ***'s therapy. I was very positive in opening up to get help that I was not able to get on my own. I opened up to Dr. ***, baring my soul, all my traumas, emotional weakness, shortcomings, limitations, everything. I did my best literally going the extra mile driving 110 miles round trip every week for 2 hours, paying big for my own responsible means in the hope to achieve a closure to my torments. I really meant to participate and do my best and indeed I did.
Dr. *** kept me suggesting alternative, unlicensed and unregulated therapies in conjunction with hers. I rejected most of them due to their nature and questionable therapeutic value. I was having mixed messages from Dr. *** about all those suggestions, perhaps, she was not equipped and unable to help through her means and boundaries. I did not know better. I needed help. I kept an open mind and doing my very best in my endeavor.
As I was baring my soul and also disclosing that despite my awareness achieve through self-analyses and survival skills, I questioned what could I do to overcome my blockages that I was unable to do on my own. I did not have a fairy stick to heal myself, If I had it I would not have spent all that money and drive all that distance to get HELP that I needed. I was at awe when she just read from her smartphone the eight stages of psycho social development from Dr. Erickson as a text book... I could not believe... was this my healing therapy? I did not move through the eight stages throughout my up bring, which I was fully aware and the question was, so what now? What could I have done? What could the doctor have helped me with? Nothing, only blamed me for not want to overcome...
Dr.*** have always praised for my resilience against being "gas lighted" by my dysfunctional family, keeping my integrity and sanity. She also mentioned that she had a lot of empathy for me....
As time passed *** I felt that the therapy was not working, time to move on stop putting money, time, mileage and all of myself into it. I explained the doctor about it, again expressing my willingness to get professional help and kindly asked for a partial refund to apply to other professional or therapy that could effectively help me. At that point she accused me of being paranoid despite the fact that she had always praised for my resilience against being gas lighted by my dysfunctional family, she did exactly the same. She also said that" despite our differences" she did her best to help me... I do not know what she was talking about in regard to our differences. I am not aware of any. When I looked for her, I saw a professional who could possibly help me .If there had been any differences that could have prevented me to work with her, baring my soul, I would not have started this month's long journey and so s shouldn't she have accepted as a patient... She kept throwing on me that I was responsible for therapy failure, accusing of using her to monitor unregulated activities, which I was not undertaking while having my sessions with her, and others, most of them were suggested directly by her without taking any responsibility on it.
Most all her podcasts on her web site are a testament of her irresponsible approach to controversial subjects which appeared to me possibly business marketing. I find her online media podcasts material, misguiding, irresponsible.
For what reason would she create controversy and draw attention about some activities that may involve some risks if she does not guide or warn the free citizen or patients about it? At the end she say that the activities that she promotes through her media, most of them are controversial unlicensed and unregulated, is not her responsibility...
I had very disappointed experience with Dr. ***, a doctor who I believed, gave my all and in return she used all my weakness against me, clearly abusing the trust that I deposited on her.
She had mentioned at some point of our therapy that some therapist keep "milking" the patients even though they feel that the therapy is not working... This is exactly she did to me. Her therapy was not working; perhaps she may have felt that it would not work due to the nature of my traumas, possibly reason why she kept suggesting alternative therapies at the same time refusing to take monitor them to make sure her suggestion remained therapeutic.
I felt betrayed, a harsh pay back to all my trust on her. The issues that brought me to her did not improve a bit under her care. My anxiety and depression a little worse adding to the ongoing world crises. This is a summarized review to fit the parameters. Much more could have been said.
I fell that I need to be heard. It cannot go blank.
