I have been eating at KFC restaurants my whole adult life. When ordering chicken from KFC, I also order "all breasts" buckets. KFC and other chicken restaurants charge an up-charge for all breast chicken buckets. In the past when ordering all breast chicken buckets, I was charged approximately 80 cents for each piece of chicken upgrade in the bucket minus the number of breasts the bucket already comes with. For example, if you order an 8 piece chicken bucket, that bucket already comes with 2 breast pieces; therefore, there would be an up-charge of 80 cents x 6 (pieces of chicken). On March 4, 2018, I went to my local KFC to purchase chicken. I ordered an 8 piece meal with all breast. The price on the order board was $21.99. As in the past, I assumed I would be charge $21.99 + 80 cents x 6 (pieces of chicken) for a total up-charge of $4.80. The sub-total on that would be $26.79. Instead, I was charged $24.99 + 80 cents x 4 pieces. Total up-charge was $3.20; total sub-total $29.88. I questioned the charge was told that is how they ring in all breast meals. I paid for meal and left. I later called corporate KFC for clarification on the policy. After several phone calls and almost 3 weeks, I finally received a call from the store manager, Stephanie. She said the base price of $24.99 that I was charged (instead of board price of $21.99) was for all white meat. I pointed out the fact that the store is actually up-charging twice and that in the past at all KFC stores I have been to, I was charged the board price plus an up-charge for each breast substitution. I pointed out that I was charged $3 or $1.50 each for the first two breast substitutions and then only 80 cents a piece for the next 4 pieces of breast substitution. She said that's how they charge. This store practice is gouging customers out of a few dollars on each order of all breast meals.
