Keystone Contracting Corp. is a highly professional and trustworthy company. I had heard so many stories from our friends and neighbors of selecting a bad roofing company until I spoke and met Adam, owner of Keystone Contracting, he was a soft spoken, professional, patients and courteous. The office staff showed a high level of responsiveness, and respect. The workers were proficient, knowledgeable and on top of their work, they finished my roof in two days, and my driveway and walkway in one day. I was happy and satisfied working with Adam. I would definitely use Keystone Contracting again and would recommend Adam and his company without reservations. In fact I had recommended him to one of my architect friend.
Review: Contractor hired to build new cellar doors as old doors were old and allowed rain water to enter basement. The house is a 1899 home and needed new wood [redacted] doors. New doors built out of cedar grade wood as agreed and tongue and groove. After doors were built, I observed that the wood planks were not sealed with a weather sealant, no rubber or foam weatherstripping applied, and no silcon sealer applied to the tongue and grove planks (inside and outside) and along the outer (exterior) edges where the [redacted] doors are mounted. I discussed this with the contactor and advised him of the problem and he agreed to return. I researched on the Intranet how to make basement [redacted] doors and make water tight as even a small gap in a door gasket can introduce a lot of water into the [redacted]. Internet Information was provided to Contrator. He returned and purchased the foam and rubber recommended weatherstripping and the watersealant and silcon. He attempted to make the door water tight and I paid him the full amount of [redacted] but I still have a very wet basement. I called him subsequently and left two messages for him to return the call but he has failed to return call.Desired Settlement: Partial refund as I am going to have to arrange for another contractor attempt to make wood doors water tight or have a complete new set of doors made as Contractor [redacted] door design is flawed.

Response:
[redacted] -- Thank you for speaking with me last week. Yes, Keystone Contracting was hired to build new cellar doors to try and minimize rain water entering the basement of the customer's home. The home was built in 1899 and the cellar doors were allowing rain to enter into the basement. Upon arriving and assessing the situation, we advised that the only way to stop the problem was to install [redacted] metal doors with run-off channels to prevent leaking. The homeowner did not want the metal doors because they felt it would take away from the look of the home. We agreed to build and install new doors out of a better quality lumber and proceeded with the work. We returned to the home on four different occasions. One occasion was to replace the original weather stripping that we had installed and installed the weather stripping the homeowner requested, and repeated the water sealant and silicon process. We suggested that the problem might be helped by fixing the brick at the bottom of the doors, but that was out of the scope of the original contract and would be at an additional cost. Yes, we agree that two phone calls went unanswered and for that we apologize. Upon receiving your letter regarding the compliant, we contacted the homeowner and apologized for not returning the phone calls in a more timely manner. When we contacted the homeowner, we offered to come back and work on the bricks. At that time we were informed that they subsequently hired another contractor to attempt to remedy the situation. It was at this time that the homeowner shared with us that they still do not know if the problem was resolved. We received [redacted] for this job which included the materials and four visits to the home. We feel that given the fact that we advised against the installation of wood doors, our attempt to solve the problem, and the subsequent hiring of another contractor, we have done all that we can do regarding the doors. We do not feel that a refund of any amount for the doors is warranted. However, we are still willing to work with the homeowner on the bricks in question. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond. This is first time in nearly 20 years of business that we have received such a letter from the Revdex.com..
Sincerely,
[redacted] President
