The policy was up for renewal in march and I decided to not renew since premium went up by a lot. Spoke to a rep agent over the phone and said policy was to be terminated March 10,2020 with out any fees owed. I had removed the auto payments and removed my bank information early March. A month later I see they withdrew funds from my bank account without authorization for services for March and April. My husband goes down to the office and they tell him that the agent did not file any paper work for the cancellations made in March until April 21st.
I called Allstate and stated that I need the refund credit back to my account ASAP as I need to pay for Rent for the month and all they can say is they are investigating the issue made by them?

In response to this complaint filed by ***, the client originally contacted our office on March 10, 2020 to suspend her automatic payment for her automobile insurance policy but made no mention of cancelling her policy. Our office suspended the automatic payment withdrawal. Here is a screen shot from our system:

Created For - *** 9376***40 - Automobile I received email and processed suspension Easy Pay Result Suspend Result Your request for suspension has been sent for processing. The reference number for policy number ***6***40 is 81***13.
Subsequently, the client called on April 10th to cancel the policy. Here is a screenshot:

Created For - *** 9376***40 - Automobile Cancellation Sent e-mail asking for permission to cancel policy.
Our office submitted an endorsement to cancel the policy 4/10/2020 and Allstate Insurance Company did not process the endorsement and we sent a second endorsement to cancel on 4/21/2020 to be effective March 10, 2020. You can see on page two of your packet that we referenced the endorsement being processed a second time and that it did not show in work status. The policy was finally cancelled by Allstate but the date was still incorrect and we submitted a service request today to get the policy cancelled back to 3/10/2020 and not 3/22/2020 because Allstate does not process cancellations beyond 30 days without documentation, (ie. proof of duplicate coverage.) At this point, I want our client and you to know that we processed the requests as quickly as possible but we are not in control of the process and that is in Allstate’s control. I want everyone to know we take our customer service very seriously and this is not a normal occurrence.
