My mom passed away March 31 2020. I sent death certificate and have called 5 or 6 times. My mother paid into this thinking she would recieve 2000.00 upon her death. Turned over to attorney general for fraud.

Explanation of What Happened             The Kennard Brotherhood has been in existence...

for many decades and is in no way a fraud. Books are maintained on all receipts, transactions, and death benefit payments and have always been up to date and balanced. The members pay a set amount (currently $9.00) per membership for each death card that is sent out. A death is card is completed and mailed to each member when there are 6 deaths among the members. Once the money is collected a check for $1,000.00 is issued to the beneficiary of the deceased Brotherhood member. There are times when the number of deaths outnumbers the 6 deaths that are reported on a death card. As quickly as the payments are received the checks are disbursed. I have been ill for quite a while now and am currently in the hospital due to a fall. I am heading to rehab next for a few weeks before heading home. As a matter of fact I am dictating this letter to my daughter from my hospital room. I have been unable to answer the phone. My daughter and her family have been assisting with the Brotherhood matters until I am better. This was just an issue of missed phone calls and the number of deaths delaying said payment. My daughter and her family are now conducting business as usual for me until I get home. Action to Be Taken             My son-in-law has since called and left a message for Mr. [redacted]. It is December the 11th, 2015 and the funds are now in to distribute a check for $1,000.00 to Mr. [redacted] due to the death of [redacted]. This check will be mail in the next few days. In the meantime, until I get better, my daughter is checking my phone for messages. It was the one thing that we didn’t have covered. As far as I can tell this ought to be a closed issue but if there is something further that I need to do or more explanation that is needed please let me know. There are numerous Brotherhood members that would back me up on everything that I have just explained. Thank you for your time.
