Requested a quote for an addition of a roof overhang to cover outdoor stairs leading to the basement. Two guys came out, there were some discussions on how to approach it, but then said a third guy who was closer would come out and give a quote. After a couple days, the guy never called, so I called the company back. The secretary was supposed to see what was up, but a week has passed and I've yet to hear back from anyone.
Sad when I can't even get a quote from a contractor.
I had Katz strip off my old roofing and install new shingles in March 2015. Here is my assessment of their work:
1) No follow-up call after the work was completed to inquire about our satisfaction.
2) I picked up about 1/2 of a 5 gallon bucket full of old roofing and 50-100 nails from the driveway and around the house perimeter that was left behind.
3) 8' piece of siding J-channel pulled loose from the house and left dangling.
4) Vinyl siding damaged in 2 different places when the old drip edge was torn off. (I happened to notice a tennis ball sized un-repaired hole in the siding as the crew was leaving. I stopped them and the fix was a palmfull of calking smeared over the surface of the siding as a repair.)
5) At the 1st serious rain, I had rainwater dripping from an upstairs doorjam header and running across the floor.
6) I would give the overall workmanship and attention to detail a grade of C-.

I would not recommend Katz to a friend.
