Hello,I am responding to a follcorrespondence from [redacted] .As a gesture of goodwill, I am willing to issue a $credit toward [redacted] tax preparation for her tax returnI can prepare a credit voucher and mail it to herThank you.Kathryn Tracy
Our fee schedule is open for public inspection on our website. We charge by the form, and for any additional accounting work we have to do to prepare returns accurately and fairlyWe believe our clients should pay their fair share of tax, no more, no less. After going through all of the
receipts that MsHymanson brought in, which included deductions she had not claimed in the past, it was found that the tax return required additional forms that had not be filed in the past and/or she had not been charged for in the pastA breakdown of the charges by form was reviewed with her.I do not believe we owe her a refund, as we did the work to prepare those extra forms for her, and she enjoyed the benefits of the refunds they gained her.Best Regards,Kathryn Tracy
Again I will reiterate, and as much Kathryn Tracy admits , that additional work was done and charged without my consent or prior knowledge of fees. She needs to honor the fee quoted in her original first visit when I brought in the documents. In prior years I have sat there in her office while she was adding everything up on the calculator. If she wanted me to stay I would have been glad to, or add up these figures up myself before bringing in. However, she gets paid to do this. If she felt the scope of work was larger than what she had originally planned that's on her not me. It's also not my fault if she failed to charge for various forms in prior years. She did not present me with what forms were and how much the fee was until after tax work was completed. Not a fair way to run a business.
