We purchased a pair of Merrell boots ([redacted]) at Trail Head in Ottawa, Ontario

When my daughter finally needed to wear the boots because of cold and heavy snow, a month or so had elapsed. She then wore then for 2 weeks, then the zipper tab broke off, making it impossible to zip them up without using pliers (which would have been a bit ridiculous in front of co-workers to say the least).

We went back to Trail Head in Ottawa to get satisfaction; they offered a store refund since they didn't have the boots in store, or to send them back to Merrell with an expected return of approximately a month (in the cold of January). She didn't have any other boots, so we had to purchase some elsewhere and wait for Merrell to give us satisfaction.

We had bought these boots for a total of 201$ and change, believing they were the best (warmest-which they aren't and waterproof-which she didn't have a chance to test since it was deadly cold, not wet)

Merrell is offering to replace the boots. If the zipper broke in less than 2 weeks of use, who would want the same again ?

We have been totally dissatisfied with both Trail Head, Ottawa and Merrell for faulty product.
