Kane Community Hospital

Review: Service was to be a wellness visit which is paid 100% by insurance company, however I was billed for an office visit. I've called Kane Community Hospital and the Doctor's office affiliated with this hospital. When I called the doctor's office they told me to call the hospital to correct the billing, when I called the hospital they told me that they could not, that it was against the law for them to change the billing code that the doctor's office needed to do it. So I called the doctor's office back and they said, that they couldn't that the billing comes from the hospital. I call the hospital back and got the same run around. My wife also spoke to the hospital and doctor's office and they gave her the same run around. The issue is still unresolved.

Also, when you go to a doctor's appointment and you inform them that it is a wellness visit, they should not perform any other services with out your permission. Also, I was only in the office for less than a 1/2 hour and they charged my health insurance $428.00,Desired Settlement: I would like the bill to be corrected and the Kane Hospital and their doctor's need to be on the same page when it comes to patient billing.

The date of service/physician office visit in question was not a wellness visit, as stated by the complainant. This date of service was the patient's first visit with the physician.
