I am responding to the complaint with the above referenced ID# that was placed with you on July 21, 2015 against our company. K3 performed installation services at the residence in 2014 for a prior homeowner. The equipment was installed in a workmanlike fashion and in good working order at that...
time. The property was subsequently sold to the complainant. In the complaint, the complainant states that he felt there were issues with the HVAC system. He contacted two different contractors over some period of time, each of which came out and did some level of investigative work or otherwise on the air conditioning components. These evaluations were completed prior to any initial contact with K3. The complaint did not include any letters, photos, inspections or other documentation to support his claims. When first contacted by the complainant, our technician explained that the work was done for a prior property owner. Our initial proposal listed the warranties offered with the installation: 20 year heat exchanger factory warranty, 5 year parts and compressor factory warranty and a 1 year labor warranty, along with the cost of the replacement. The labor warranty was voided when another contractor serviced/touched the unit. During this first phone call to our technician, we offered to visit his home for our standard service charge of $125.00, since the labor warranty was voided. The complainant declined to pursue that offering. In summary, K3 communicated with the complainant in a timely fashion, provided a description of applicable warranties and provided a good faith ofference to visit the home and evaluate the unit, which was refused. K3 will not be performing additional work for this complainant.Respectfully,Kevin H[redacted], Owner K3 Heating Plumbing and Air
