K Double H Construction

In July 2019 I contracted with Kendall Hisey to fix my bathroom and put a roof on my home. In August I gave him two personal checks for 2600 and 3500. The checks consisted of funds from insurance checks and my hard earned money from my first paycheck of August 2020. Mr. Hisey demanded to be paid in full before the work was even started. He told me some lying BS story about some homeowner ripping him off 120K. After I paid Mr Hisey the last personal check of 3500 dollars on a Friday evening he told me that he would get me on his schedule for the following week to get my house fixed. I called him on Monday and asked him when he was going to schedule me to fix my house and he blew me off. I called him on Tuesday morning and his phone went to voicemail all day for the next few days. On Tuesday morning I looked up his company on line and there wasn’t one good review. All of the reviews on multiple websites said the same thing which was he took money from his customers and either did a bad job and didn’t finish the work or didn’t do any work at all which was what happened in my case. I drove to his office in cedar park. Turns out his office was a small office that he rented out of a real estate office. They told me that he had been evicted because of all of the drama of pist customers looking for him due to being screwed over by him, constables putting notices on his door from where he had been sued etc. I had good reason to believe that I had been screwed by him after I left his office. I knew his intent was to steal my money and do no work on my house. I was able to call my bank and put a stop payment on the 3500 dollar personal check I gave him. I texted him and told him not to come on my property. He was pist that I stopped payment on the 3500 dollar check that he thought that he was entitled to. He threatened me with theft of services, to put a lien on my property and that I wrote him a bad check and yet he hadn’t even attempted to put me on the schedule to work on my home. He sent me this bogus bill with charges of 1000 dollars for breach of contact, 700 and something dollars for restocking roofing materials that he never bought, hundreds of dollars for coming by my house and two of those trips were to collect money from me. He was trying to justify keeping my money. He even went as far as to say that I still owed him several hundred dollars. He told me if I didn’t pay up or let him do the work on my house that he would file a lien on my home, file charges for theft of services etc etc. I told him that I would be pursuing legal action against him. I saw his record and he has a long history over many years of stealing money from people. Some of the reviews on the internet state that he wrote a hot check for 26000 dollars to a vendor for supplies, he ripped of 6000 dollars from an elderly man who trustingly gave him his insurance check to fix his home and he disappeared. A single mother of 5 children trustingly paid him 1500 dollars to move a trailer for him and he took her money and disappeared. Another guy paid him almost 10000 dollars and he took this guys money and never did any work. Kendall Hisey and his bogus company k double h construction has a big fat F rating on the BBB with multiple complaints. When I was talking to Killeen Police Department there were two more people that were also filing complaints against him. One was an employee that he hired to work on one of his bogus projects and he gave the employee a bad check. Look for the review by this employees wife. It’s posted on one of these websites along with all of the other bad reviews about this guy. Now he can respond to my review and say whatever he wants in regards to what I am saying but if you google reviews on k double h construction all of the negative reviews speak for themselves. I hope that other people do not make the mistake that I made and not google reviews about him before they consider hiring him.

Review: [redacted]!!!K DOUBLE H CONSTRUCTION / [redacted]!!In January 2014 I contracted with [redacted] of K Double H Construction to replace the roof on my home.The roof was installed and fully paid for in February 2014. However, although he was paid in fullfor the job as contracted, [redacted] / K Double H Construction wrote bad checks to the installer hehired to perform the installation work. The installer is now threatening me with legal action and alean on my home. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS INDIVIDUAL / COMPANY!!!Desired Settlement: Make good his payment(s) to [redacted] and provide me with cancelled chaecks marked paid by his bank as proof of same.

Mr . [redacted] has not made good on the bounced check he wrote to his sub-contractor. On April 14 he sent me a text message stating he would call me later in the day with an update. But he has yet to call me to provide any update on the status of this situation. I have a copy of the bad check written by Mr. [redacted]). Last week Mr. [redacted] promised me he would provide me with a cancelled check as proof of payment of this obligation. But as of this writing, no proof of payment has been provided.
