On Thursday, 1/2/20, my sister *** called Junk King San Fernando Valley from my office and spoke with ***. He told her that the cost to haul my office furniture, would be between *** for two pick-up sized trucks. As the price seemed fair, we made an appointment for Monday, 1/6/20. *** said they would arrive between 3-5 p.m.
The men who came to move the office furniture were hard workers, and I have only compliments for them. My problem is with the increased cost. No longer was the bill between *** per truck, but now the cost was almost *** per truck!
***, the "boss" told me that he's had this problem with *** before, where *** quotes a lower price, and once they are on the job the consumer is upset because of the increased bill. *** was polite, but wasn't willing to lower his price to match what *** said the cost would be.
*** called ***, and wasn't able to reach him. My sister and I called ***, and were told that he wasn't available but he'd call us back, which he did. Now, *** said that the cost is based on the kind of truck that is used, and a "box truck" costs more than a pick up truck. I explained that he never told us this when we made the appointment. I said that all I know is that he quoted the cost per truck as between *** and now, on the pick up day, the cost is twice as much.
*** wasn't willing to honor the original price that he quoted us. I ended up paying a total of *** which is *** more than I thought I'd be charged!

Refund I want ***-Junk King San Fernando Valley to reimburse me for the extra *** I was charged. *** was friendly on the day I hired him, and I trusted him when he told me I would be charged between *** per truck. I don't appreciate being taken advantage of. I wonder if *** frequently does this "bait and switch" technique.

On 1/18/2020 I received a check from Junk King in the amount of *** As I stated previously, I had no quarrel whatsoever with the hard working employees of Junk King who removed the contents of my office.
