Review: I reserved a Uhaul truck by phone after referencing rates and conditions online. I choose a 20-ft truck which was advertised to accommodate a home with one bedroom. Since we rented a one-bedroom townhouse with no living room furniture or additional storage, the Uhaul rep said it would be appropriate. However, as the professional movers I hired loaded the truck, we discovered two hours into loading that it was not going to fit. I had no choice but to rent an additional 6' x 12' trailer. The trailor was rented from a Uhaul dealer in Lorton, Va for $764.50, nearly half the cost of the truck. In additional to the added rental cost, I determined the gas mileage was also significantly reduced. With only 5-7 mpg, it cost me over $1500 in gas to travel from ** to **. I was misled by Uhaul's online advertising which resulted in additional costs exceeding $1000.Desired Settlement: I am seeking reimbursement for the cost of the 6' x 12' trailer. Considering I also incurred costs for the additional fuel needed, I believe a fair and reasonable refund would be $700.
