JPMorgan Chase Credit Card Reviews (4971)

Review: FedEx shipping service "No. 805866165180" was used, to ship a parcel to Germany.

Just the charges of 105.73 US were NOT authorized by me, who was the credit card holder.

With my cooperate discount I normally pay for such shipping between 20-30 USD, what I explained several times to one of CHASE dispute representatives.

Chase insist the charges are valid, even WITHOUT providing proper proof, that a contract was actually signed by credit card holder, for 105.73 US - because it does not exist.

Chase even informed Trans Union, Equifax as well as Experian, to force me to make a payment.Desired Settlement: I expect either proof, meaning show me the signed receipt or

a) withdraw of the info to credit companies and to correct that statement

b) credit of 105.73 US

c) apology

Otherwise I'll close my account = credit card is already destroyed.

Mr. [redacted]

Chairman & CEO

J.P.Morgan

Dear Mr. [redacted]:

There are a few companies that I have the utmost respect for and that I enjoy doing business with. Amazon, Apple and Chase. As you can see from the correspondence, something has gone awry with your Chase Card Services and either your system has a ‘glitch’ or there is an employee who may be in need of seeking the assistance of mental health professional.

In either case, I have continue to receive these "automatically generated” emails. For the many years that I have done business with your fine company, they have always been signed by your representative.

As you can see, my request for assistance started on March 15th and

as I wrote several times to your Chase Card Services, it turned out to be my error and I have asked them to close the case, honor the transaction.

Will you kindly have someone resolve this issue as I feel like I am being harassed and it is not a pleasant feeling.

Thank you very much for your help and for being such a wonderful company to do business with. Your associates have always been so helpful and polite. Unusual in today’s business world.

Sincerely,

Subject: Re: Payment Inquiry

Message:

Dear [redacted]Desired Settlement: As you can see, I have been contacting Chase Credit Card's CEO [redacted] since March15th - after I realized that I had made an error - I want them to pay Johann's Bakery the $20.97 that I owe him for the purchase of gluten-free bread.

This company has been playing games with me since the date I first contacted them and some gal named Amy has made matters worse - by calling, leaving a voice mail message; I call her back, she's on voice mail ....never to be heard from

again.

Thank you for your help.

Review: For over a year, I have been disputing charges made against my credit card with Chase. Someone created a phony paypal account under my deceased wife's name, and ran charges up to $20,000. I notified Chase of the charges, and was initially told that this was my responsibility. I immediately ordered them to close the account, and they gave me a new credit card number. When thousands of dollars more were charged, I then went to an attorney to help represent me with Chase since the customer service department kept denying my claims and telling me that my credit is going to suffer if I don't pay the charges. My attorney is [redacted] and he has been working with [redacted] from Chase's fraud claims department. I know that my attorney has submitted numerous documents on my behalf, and is continuously told by [redacted] that the claim is being processed. However, these charges continue to accrue interest on my account and I keep having to pay my attorney to work on this for me. This should not take this long to resolve. I have always paid my bills on time, and I have never, ever, opened or used a paypal account. I contacted paypal to ask them how someone can open an account and link it to my credit card, and they told me I need to take it up with my credit card company. This is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone just keeps passing the buck and no one accepts any responsibility. I did not authorize these charges, and when I talked to the customer service representative he just kept repeating himself and trying to convince me that I am responsible for the charges. My attorney has told me that [redacted] said that the initial representative indicated that I accepted responsibility for these charges, and that is a bonafide lie. I never authorized these charges, and I demand that they be removed.Desired Settlement: I demand that every charge that went through paypal on my credit card being removed. In addition, since I already paid some of these charges because I was told by the customer service representative that I had to, I demand a refund for those amounts. I feel as though I have been lied to by Chase and completely taken advantage of. I have been a customer for a very long time, I am retired and live on a fixed income, and the fact that this is taking over a year to resolve is absolutely criminal. Chase needs to do what is right and remove these charges immediately and refund me accordingly.

Review: Chase Credit for Marriott did not let me to cancel my card with my membership fee waived on Jan. 12, 2014.

- Their argument: I did not cancel it during the "60 day grace period" I have been given starting from Nov. 1, 2013, which is the day that my grace period starts.

- However, according to their CSR, their statement was sent out on Nov. 24, which was already 3 weeks after the starting day of my grace period

- Their notice was delivered during the holiday season, and I was out of town for vacation.

- I only got a chance to check the notice till the end of year, which is already out of the grace period

I don't like their way to handle the grace period. It should be from the notice day rather than a day they decided without notifying the customer. A good company should not rely on a business model that tries to leverage a customer's mistakes to earn profilt.Desired Settlement: Waive the membership fee and any financial charge related to the unpaid membership fee.

Review: I have been having an ongoing issue getting a credit card statement from them so I could pay off my balance. I have repeatedly requested a bill be mailed to me. I had been told it would be sent multiple times but it never was. After months of trying to get this info I was told today my account was set up to pay online only. When I asked for the interest and fees to be removed so I could pay off the card via electronic payment from my checking account they refused to remove the fees. Thats more, they couldn't even tell me the exact payoff because there would be FURTHER charges not reflected in my balance as of today. Is this even legal?!?!?!? I will be launching a [redacted], etc campaign against JP Morgan/Chase but I want my interest and fees refunded to me. I am convinced this is company policy to bilk customers of as much money as possible.Desired Settlement: I want all interest and late fees refunded to me.

Review: I was solicited by Chase for its Southwest Airlines Visa Rapid Rewards credit card offering 50,000 points after spending $2,000 in 90 days. Upon sign-up, I informed the represenatative that I may have had this card before and asked if I could qualify again to receive the award points. I was told yes after the company informed me that I closed this account over a year earlier (and utilized the crad well before that). So, in good faith, I applied for the card and was immediately approved. When I received the card after about 10 days, I called customer service to inquire when my 90-day period ends. I was told that this period began on June 25th when I was approved for the card, and not circa July 5th when I received the card, thus losing 10 days because "I can't spend on what I dont' have in my possession." This was agreed to by customer service (through supervisor) and I requested a letter that I now have the 103 days from June 25th to spend the required $2,000 - as long as the $2,000th dollar posts on or before the 103rd day. So far, so good, although the "10-day" situationmade me skeptical. I called several times and was told several times - including by supervisors - that I do qualify for this promotion despite having had the card before.

Here's where the situation turns ugly. I was told to pay the first bill when it arrives shortly, including the $99 annual membership fee to qualify for the 50,000 reward points. I did this. Meanwhile, the supervisor who told me this information requested the letter I requested to be sent to me via the Marketing Correspondence department. This department reviewed my file and then denied me the award - after my $99 payment had been rceived! I then complained to a supervisor at the credit card named Marisa (phone number for this Chase credit card is 8[redacted]) who agreed with my situation and went to bat for me, getting this denial overturned and also providing an additional 5,000 points for the aggravation of the situation. I called the next day to confirm all this, and then was told that the situation had been reviewed again and denied, so now I'm not receiving the points because I had the card previously! I called to complain again and spoke to a supervisor in San Antonio, Texas earlier today. He stated he would have my situation reviewed again by the research team, and also, upon my request, stated that I have until August 30th to close my account there and receive a full refund of $99 for my annual fee. Note that a previous supervisor had pegged this date at August 14th, but this most recent supervisor told mt his date is accurate. Once again, there was misinformation/miscommunication on the part of Chase, and therefore I am uncomfortable with this until a final conclusion can be reached and verified/confirmed. I have complained to credit card partner Southwest Airlines about this situation as well and they are investigating. Had the original overturn of the denial stood, as I believe it should, I would not be contacting you about this, but Chase keeps jerking me around (and thus a Southwest Airlines customer as well); thus, these additional contacts to resolve this issue quickly one way or the other.Desired Settlement: I have proposed the following to Chase:

1. Provide the 55,000 points as stated based on the overturned judgment and the complimentary 5,000 points for my additional time/their errors. Do this and I will continue to use the card to fulfill the promotional requirement to receive the points - but this decision needs to be done quickly since the promotion has a time limit.

2. I offered a supervisor today the following option: since I have used the card for half the time of the promotion already, I should get half the points (25,000) and my money back that I paid for the membership fee. I would then close the account.

3. If the company is still sticking with its denial, then I want to close my account and receive a full refund of my $99 - but I need to know the decision in time so that this ability to obtain the refund does not expire on me (i.e., I need to know well before August 30th). Then I would be entirely done with Chase.

Thanks for your assistance with this complaint.

Sincerely, [redacted]

Review: First of all this account has been closed since 2006 and I have been paying on it, sometimes two payments a month as I was intent upon eliminating the last of our debt. I filed for divorce back in April and part of the divorce agreement was that my husband pay off this credit card. He did this early in August for $17,000 plus dollars. I noted that some residual was left over from where we were off a little from the amount that I had specified to his lawyer and I realize that no payment made it to Chase in July. I paid that in the amount of $214.84 on August 15th. So ZERO balance according to the phone call and my follow up payment amount to make up the difference. Now-they billed again for $161.56. I think they have really overstepped their bounds since we have paid this card off. I did pay the 161.56 but I think it is only fair that you know they wouldn't even hear my complaint when I called customer service today. I resent this and I resent it even more that she wouldn't even attempt to help me resolve this. Is this the treatment I get for paying off a card? I expected them to help me with this and they did not. This is not a fair charge. thank you.Desired Settlement: $161.56 How is interest charge on a closed, paid off account.

Review: My Chase debit card was stolen and I had 2 unauthorized transactions. I immediately contacted the police, filed a report and then called and canceled my card. I filed a claim with JP Chase for the unauthorized charges totaling $760.00. they denied my initial claim then I appealed the decision and that was denied also. They refuse to speak with me to explain why the claim was denied. Review: Filed a complaint about a disgusting "luxury" hotel booking on 6/2/2015. Chase Cardmember Services has yet to issue a refund owed to me for 726.40. They keep issuing me a refund for my REFUNDABLE deposit of 500.00 and saying its the refund , when it is not. It is the deposit that I was owed and never disputed. To date, I have not received a full deposit and the case keeps getting transferred to several parties, all who have no idea whats going on. The case has gone to managers who dont return calls/emails. [redacted] are a few of the latest. I should not have to wait over 4 months for a refund. Credit card companies are suppose to protect you. I have provided them with all documents to prove my non existent stay at a hotel that falesly advertised several activities that werent there and provided no air conditioning in the summer. Still waiting for a full refund.Desired Settlement: In total, I paid a 500.00 REFUNDABLE deposit and 926.40 for the "luxury" hotel. I am seeking a full refund of both of the above. Chase Cardmember Services keeps crediting and debiting my account, so I need a final refund. There is a 726.40 dispute still pending that they have not addressed and we need to ensure that they do return my REFUNDABLE deposit.

Review: Unresolved credit card dispute after providing paperwork to prove the dispute was valid.

I reserved a 2 bedroom condo on 2/25/2014 for a total of $1226 which included $500 refundable deposit and $726 for the stay of two nights. Flipkey is a third party that allows condo owners to rent their condo to guest for a duration of time. They also have a $10,000 peace of mind guarantee for any misrepresentation, or if your room is not available at the time of check in. When check in date came up I had not heard from anyone in regards to check in instructions. When I arrived to Miami to check in I was informed that there was a layover and there was a one bedroom loft for my party of 4 to stay in. This was not what we reserved and I did not stay for $726 in a one bedroom when I have family with a guest room I can stay in for free. I attempted to contact the owner of the condo and got no response so I left due to my dissatisfaction. I contacted Flipkey on that following Monday to inform them of the situation and they denied my eligibility of being covered for the $10,000 peace of mind guarantee because I had not contacted them prior to check in which I did and provided an email doing so. They stopped responding to my emails and so I contacted Chase to help me resolve my dispute due to the lack of efforts from Flipkey. I provided all documents including emails, pictures of text messages with no response, etc. Chase then came back and said that Flipkey is now stating that I had stayed during the stay which is not true and that they closed the case due to the fact they called my place of business on a Saturday and because they could not contact me they closed the case. It is absurd that as a valuable customer who has spent well over $5k a year they would not contact me prior to closing the dispute. I am now forced to pay for services not surrendered due to Chase's lack of communication and I will close my Credit card acct ending in 2666 due to this experience.Desired Settlement: I will keep my credit card acct open only if I am refunded my dispute due to the services not provided and misrepresented as well as the $10,000 peace of mind guarantee that Flipkey is falsely advertising on their website. They should be held responsible for false advertisement!

The issue is not resolved based on the letter you sent me. I never disputed the debt wasn't mine. I would like to make arrangements to payoff the debt and have it removed from credit. I did contact Chase Bank in September 2013 and it's not my fault if you can find no record of the call. If you will not allow me to pay the debt off then it should be removed from my credit. Review: I have applied and obtained the Ink Business Credit Card From Chase based on their advertisement that if $5000 is spent in the first three month, then 60,000 points will be rewarded to the card holder. I received the card on May 24th, 2014 and got it activated on the same day. I have calculated that from May 24th to Aug 23th, I have spent over $5000 on the card. But I was told that, the day thay mailed out the card to me (the account establishment date, 5-15-2014) is considered the starting date. I think this is unfair, how can the clock starts before the customer receive the card? I don't even know whether my application is going to be approved or not before May 24th. Review: on Friday the 9th, chase collections took out everything I had in my bank account without telling me, I called with my concern and they told me that I had another account that was negative, when I told them I only had the one account, the guy was really rude and told me I had to call back in the morning to get the issue resolved, and that he couldn't disclose why the money was taken and what account it was in, and the next day when I woke up to check it, there was no history of them ever takeing anything out, and everything was back in my account except 40 cents... however on the 12th, they took the same 160$ out of my account again without telling me, and when I had called again they were rude and said it would be fixed with in the next business day. I am so close to closing my account if this is how they try and make their money, it is really unfair and really unjustice of them to do, also they never said that they would fix the overdraft fee that occurred when they OVERDRAFTRD my account for no reason, I pay my bills on time and I do not deserve to be scammed!Desired Settlement: I would like an explanation as to why they keep taking my money when I do not owe them. my account is always positive.

Review: To whom it may concern,

Greetings!

Here is what happened between me and the Chase credit card department. I have an active United Mileage account. Late last year (around November) when I logged into my account, I saw a credit card offer from Chase United MileagePlus Explorer credit card, saying after spending $3000 within 3 months I would get 50k bonus mileage bonus along with $50 statement credit. It seemed a targeted offer in my United Mileage account so I applied. In a few days, I received a phone call from Chase Credit Card department to verify my information. I doubled checked with the representative who reached out to me about the details of the offer and received affirmative response that the offer would be honored once I met the spending requirement after the card application was approved (Chase should have the record of the conversations). I agreed to give my information to open the card. When I received the credit card and called to activate it, another representative also confirmed to me the bonus points would be honored. After the first $1000 was spent, the $50 statement credit was processed and shown on my credit card statement, which was further confirming evidence that Chase was going to fulfill its promise. So I used the card and spent another $2000. However, I waited for over a month but didn't see the promised 50k points credited. I called the customer service, and a third representative checked my account and told me they would go ahead to process it and I just had to wait for a few days. Another couple of weeks passed by, nothing happened. So I called again, and this time I was told by someone (I forgot his name) that the Chase Marketing Department decided not to honor the offer because I received the similar bonus a while back. I was very surprised and upset because this was completely different from what I had been told in the past few months. I mentioned to this person if what he said was true, then I was misinformed at least three times by Chase representatives in the whole process to take this offer. And in this case, they should still be responsible for honoring the promise, and the customer should not be penalized for the internal disagreement among Chase departments. Plus they should've made it very clear in the credit card application when they published the electronic advertisement solicitation to my United Mileage account so I would've wasted my time. The person's attitude was condescending and clearly showed he didn't care and he didn't bother to explain or sincerely apologize. He just repeatedly said 'our marketing department made the decision and there is nothing we can do.' As a customer, I counted on what the Chase representatives told me. I couldn't tell who was from which Chase department and who had the final say. They cannot have their representatives telling their customers one thing, then dishonor what they have promised by saying 'another department within Chase' disagree.Desired Settlement: Honor the offer they have promised and credit the 50,000 mileage points to my account.

Review: CHASE offered to enroll me in the Blueprint plan, which supposedly helps cardmembers to avoid paying interest on everyday purchases when they make a payment within 30 days. Naturally, Chase restricts these purchases to certain categories that they choose. We were careful to purchase items that were within these purchase categories. However, we still received interest charges on our bill. When we called Chase, the representatives told me that certain purchases may be within their approved category but they can't control whether or not the merchant would choose to opt in for the program. This is very misleading, since consumers will not know which merchants are accepted in Chase's Blueprint plan. For instance, we specifically called the company to ask if utilities are included in the purchase categories for the Blueprint plan before paying a sewage bill. Even though it was an approved category, we were charged interest because they said the utility company was not part of Blueprint. Additionally, they cannot tell customers whether or not certain merchants will be accepted until the payment goes through so we had no choice but to pay the interest. It is clear that Chase is trying to mislead their customers by offering these purchase categories with hidden stipulations. If a merchant is not included in the Blueprint plan, customers will not know until after they have made the purchase and will be required to pay interest (which accrues starting the day of the purchase).

Chase also misleads their customers by showing only the required Blueprint payment on their online portal, instead of the full payment to avoid interest charges. The full payment amount is not disclosed until you call the company. However, since we were never informed about this practice, we thought that we were paying the entire monthly Blueprint payment amount in full until they charged us interest on the remaining undisclosed amount. Due to these unanticipated charges, we paid $562.94 in interest. We would never have used the Chase Blueprint card if we knew that there were so many hidden charges and requirements.Desired Settlement: Because Chase was deliberately misleading in their explanation of the Blueprint plan, we would like to receive a credit of $562.94 to our account.

Review: Chase credit card company did not response when I contact them to make a debt settlement this is when I hire a debt settlement lawyer to negotiate with them, my debt settlement lawyer told me not to paid Chase credit card company until they response, but they take too long to agree with the debt settlement, which result to late payment, charge off, collection that they put on my credit report history. Why did Chase credit card company take too long to response with the debt settlement agreement, I don't know, but after several months later, I did what my debt settlement lawyer told me to do, I did not paid them, so Chase credit card company has put all this late payment, charge off, collection on my credit report history and after what chase credit card company has done to my credit report history they agree to debt settlement anyway.Desired Settlement: Chase credit card should have not put all late payment, charge off, collection on my credit report history, cause I should have a option to paid them, Chase credit card company should have debt settlement agreement sooner, cause I agree to paid them and Chase credit card company did not response when I contact them. Chase credit card company also, not communicate with my debt settlement lawyer sooner, which I hire debt settlement to negotiate with them and Chase credit card company did nothing.
