Review: I took my boat in for some repairs at JP Marine Lakeside Ca., The repairs were to (1) remove the engine to change the starter motor (2)Check for oil leaks and repair ( meaning replace pan gasket and timing cover gasket)(3)replace some waterlines on engine (4) check jet pump for wear. I got no price or any written document of any kind, and signed nothing. I called about a week later and was told he did a test and found oil leak was caused by blow by. I was asked if a head could be removed for piston inspection and I said it would be OK. Never heard from them for at least a week, I called to see what was up and get some kind of price still and was told my engine was at a machine shop, they took my engine completely apart without my permission and left me with a pile of parts and put me on the hook for a rebuild. Still no price !I said to stop work and get everything back from the machine shop, and they did. They rebuilt my jet pump with all new parts and left me with a torn down engine. Now I have to decide to go forward with a rebuild when it never should have gotten this far and still no estimate for repairs, just keep stacking up a bill for things I never wanted. I don`t have by boat back yet and have not heard a thing in at least two weeks.Desired Settlement: I would like to see this shop have to pay the labor for the engine rebuild I never authorized and at least half of the parts, I will pay for the jet pump rebuild. I need them to know that you can`t just leave me with a bill for things I never asked them to do. Never signed a paper and still don`t have a estimate for repairs.
