Review: I went to Jose's hardware in wapato wa. I found a color of paint that I really liked. I asked them to mix the paint in the semi-gloss as it was going to be for my bathroom. The man placed the paint in the back of my brand new car that I just bought a week ago. When I got the paint home, I never took it out of the car. My boyfriend went to get it but stopped and said that the paint was flat paint. That the color wouldnt turn out the same on the walls and that I cant put flat paint in a bathroom. I took the paint back the next day, where I was told that they do not return paint. I had my receipt in hand. They said that I didnt have a problem with the paint when I left the store and they would not take it back. I told them that it was the wrong kind. The owner Jose, told me that he didnt care. The next day I was driving to and herd the paint can flip over in the back. When I openned the hatchback I was completely shocked to find that the entire gallon of paint had spilled all over the back of my brand new car! I cleaned what I could and called multiple auto detailers and got quotes from any where to $200to $500 dollars to clean the paint out and there was no promise of getting it out. I took pictures of it as well. When I called Jose's to tell them that the paint they put in my car was never seeled properly, I spoke to Jose again. He told me that he was not responsible for the way that I handed the paint. I told him that I never openned the paint, that his employees did not seel the paint cans. He told me that was not his problem, I told him that I wanted reimbursed for the cost of the paint and the cost to have it cleaned out of my car. He flat out told me that he did not care and that it was not his problem!!!Desired Settlement: I want the cost of the two gallons of paint refunded since both were the wrong kind of paint and one spilled out all over my new car. I also want the cost of cleaning the car out to be refunded. The paint was $23.99 per can and the cleaning of the vehicle was $200.00. I would also apprictiate an appology for the way that I was treated.

Thank you for letting me explain our side of the story about the issue about the paint On the day that the paint was purchased, the lady already had chosen which paint she wanted us to mix for hen When she saw how the paint looked once It was mixed, she said she liked how it came out. The next day she came in and said that she and her husband did not like the paint at all and that the color was off from the color she chose and that she wanted a refund. My employee then explained to her that she would need to speak with me, Jose, with anything concerning an exchange or a refund on our paint products, and told her that lr Jose, would be in later. A day or so passed and we received a phone call from the lady that purchased the paint. She was explaining everything that happened in her point of view. She was mentioning how my employee did not make the paint how she wanted it at all, when on the day of the purchase she picked out the paint color herself and told my employee herself that she liked the paint. I listened respectfully to everything she had to say, and then after she was done I told her that we were not responsible for what happens to our products in her car and that she could not just return the paint because she didn't like it when she said she did. I did not once say I didn't care what she had to say, but simply explained to her what could be done.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9632627, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am sending a number of pictures that show the damage done to my new car after an employee placed two unsealed gallons of paint in the back of my car. I want to make it very clear... When I bought the paint, I tried to explain that I would be painting my bathroom and that I needed the semi-gloss paint in the color I'd picked. The color I received was absolutely beautiful. However, when I got home my boyfriend (not husband) pointed out that it was flat paint. U can not put flat paint in a bathroom where the walls will surely get wet. When I tried to take the paint back, the guy at the hardware store that I spoke with did not speak English enough to understand anything I was saying. He went in the back and spoke to some one who then was on the phone for 10 minutes before coming out and telling me I needed to come back in about 4 hours when the owner was there. I explained that I didn't live in wapato and I had already drove all the way out there. The only reason I bought the paint there was because I work around the corner. When I did speak to Jose he told me that it wasn't his problem if the paint wasn't the right color. I again explained that the color was pretty and I did like it. It wasn't about the color. It was the kind. He said that he didn't care. I left the store and didn't notice it when I took the paint so there was no returning it. The next day the paint spilled in my car. I never opened the cans. The only time they came out of my car was when took them into the store to return them. When I spoke to Jose again I was crying and very upset. Jose told me that he wasn't responsible for the way I handled my paint and it wasn't his problem. I have never been spoken to in such a horrible way by any business owner or manager. I was appalled and so was every one that I have spoken to about the matter.
I will be sending three more emails with pictures attached showing the damage.

Our employee that mixed the paint for the lady said that she never told him she wanted the paint in semi-gloss or for the bathroom. She simply walked in with the color she wanted mixed and told our employee she wanted Interior paint. For about 10 years we have been in business and mixing paint for our customers. We have never had a complaint from any of our costumers saying that our employees didn't seal the paint cans correctly. All our employees that mix out paint here have been trained and taught how to properly mix, handle and seal our paint. And if they were not, we would not let them have the chance to mix any paint what $q ever, Our employee clearly told us that he did seal the paint.
On the day the lady tried to return the paint our employee understood exactly what she was saying, but he also knew that for any returns or exchanges on our paint products, Jose, the manager was the only one that was in charge to make those changes. When the lady spoke with our employees, even the manager, Jose, she was never crying, And no disrespect was shown to the lady, verbally or physically. After knowing that our employee in fact did seal the can properly, and keeping in mind that she lives far from Wapato. How is it so that the paint coincidentally spilled after days of purchase and handling from the lady, and not on the first day? But yes, Jose the manager did say that we were not responsible for what happens, or the way our products were managed in her car.

The last response recieved from here was not even written by the manager. he just signed it after another employee typed it. I have pictures of the damage to my car. I have witnesses that seen the damage. I also have witnesses from the car lot where I had to have the car detailed, that were standing next to me when I was telling Jose that the paint spilled in my car. I surely did not dump paint in my car on purpose, so I do not find it a "coinsidence" as was stated in the last response from Jose's hard ware. I do not know where else to go from here. What I can tell you is that I will make sure to tell every one that I come in contact with, exactly what happened and what kind of people work and run this place and the kind of service I received from here.
