vehicle needed to be driven at highway speeds for at least 40 miles. As a courtesy, we offered to do the drive to see if the inspection would pass. After 120 miles, the vehicle, despite having no more failures, would not pass the "readiness" portion of the test. To try and expedite the vehicle getting passed the readiness monitors, we ran an engine cleaning system through the engine. We drove the vehicle an additional 20 miles but it still did not pass the readiness monitors. At that time, we advised the customer to pick up his car and bring it back after an additional long highway drive. The customer took his car and did not return. If his check e ngine light did come on, we could have checked it and probably fixed it. If the customer drove his car for an additional amount of miles and his check engine light stayed off, his car probably would have passed the inspection. He never gave us the opportunity to finish what we started. Thank You.
