Dishonest in quote failed to do all work promised Billed trip charge of $59 twice not quoted Clerk told me ***'s would charge $144 to deliver rude
Johnson Plumbing came to my home to repair 2 toilets and water line to my freezer on 6/24/2020. Work was completed promptly, accurately and with courteous by plumbers Tom C and Mark M
I ask if they could install bathroom cabinet. They happily agreed. I explained in addition to install, I required cabinet to be picked up from ***'s, old cabinet hauled away, faucets installed and finish work of a tac toe installed at bottom of cabinet (this was not necessary as cabinet had one). I showed them a kit to make the top drawer a tilt drawer (also not required as the top drawer was sealed and only air space was behind it). I needed the mirror above vanity to be installed and 2 toilet paper hangers installed plus a towel rack. A side splash was to be installed. I showed all of this to each of the plumbers. Mark (the only certified plumber to return on 7-7-2020) neglected to install this. He installed the back splash that came with the kit. My wall looks terrible. I have since hired another man to install and shave this wall splash. The original quote which Mark's licensed assistant, Tom C, sent into the office via his phone on 6-24-90 was for only $450 a trip charge was not included. I had previously called a handyman service who quoted $400 and maybe $450 for a toe tack, tilt drawer added. The plumbers were here and I thought it might be safer to have a plumber install the cabinet. I agreed to higher them. Mark said call when ***'s had the cabinet. I called on 7/6/2020. The female office clerk added a trip fee of $59 I explained her firm had sent me a written quote for $450. She would not honor the quote and even looked up the invoice for the prior work completed for $270 on 6-24-2020 to verify a trip fee had been included. These funds had already cleared my bank so I was amazed a clerk would do this. She made an appointment for 7-7-20 adding the trip fee making the bill $509. Mark was scheduled to arrive at 10 am on 7-7-2020. He did not arrive until 11:30 am. I was concerned and called ***'s inquiring if he was there. ***'s said he left 20 minutes ago. Mark entered my home angrily stating: "I did not agree to this (waiting @ to ***'s." I responded "Yes you did." Mark had no business going to ***'s pickup if he did not agree to it. There was nothing for him to do in my home if he had not picked up the cabinet. Mark entered with a very young man who was clean, polite, did assist and followed instructions. I ask Mark if he was an apprentice. He looked very young. I am in favor of youth having to learn, Mark stated Dawson was the nephew of the two brothers who owned the plumbing company. Mark completed the work. The work was less than anticipated since the cabinet was ordered on line and unavailable for either myself or the store clerks to view. Mark installed new wall faucets for the water turn off line because the others were so old.***'s did not think to supply these when I ask for all new plumbing. Mark had to go outside to turn off the water line because these faucets were not functioning. The final statement was for $568 versus original quote of $450 we all agreed to on 6-24-2020. I would not have hired Johnson's for two trip fees of $59 for 1 visit. I did expect a toe tac was needed as well as a tilt drawer both, unnecessary. It was part of a quote. Mark in his anger refused to install the extra side bar I had purchased. I again called the office to dispute double charge and state less work was required than anticipated. The clerks were rude. Even said: "***'s would have charged you $144 to deliver the cabinet." I did not have ***'s subcontract a plumber because they would not have installed the mirror, towel bar and toilet paper holders. My handyman who completed detail work of prior guest bathroom cabinet ***'s installed in 2018 retired. I was looking for a full quote of work. One $59 trtip fee should be returned to me. I won't recommend or trust Johnson's again.
I would like Revdex.com, Johnson's Brothers and general public to know that Johnson's Brother's Plumbing does not give an honest quote. Johnson's Brothers staff is unethical by refusing to acknowledge all work promised in quote was not required and an adjustment should be made. Charging a customer for two road trips when Johnson's only drove to my house once that day is crooked. Mark said the company was in slow season right now. He was happy to be ask for additional work on 6-24-2020. Everyone seem to become greedy and overcharged me when the day came for Johnson's to do the work. I studied business law and a verbal agreement between two parties is binding. Johnson's brother gave a written quote and increased it over $100 the day the work was completed and there was less work to be done than originally planned. On 7-7-2020 Mark even threw a screw in the toilet he had been called to repair on 6-24-2020. That water saver toilet was installed in February 2019. I was surprised there were any issues so soon. The other water saver toilet was installed in August 2017. I was surprised it was not working properly. The Water Department called me because my water bill is so much higher than other neighbors with more people in the community. They made an adjustment to prior bill. I did require a plumber and new plumbing in the bathrooms. The cabinet replaced was leaking.

It grieves us that Ms. is unhappy. We have tried multiple times to address this issue with her. Attached below is our response to her on July 8, 2020 when we sent her a copy of the initial quote after she disputed it. Also attached, is our comments to her complaint. It is our desire to provide the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, honesty, and quality workmanship to each service appointment. We will continue to do so and it is unfortunate that she does not see that.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Johnson's has never clarified why I was charged $59 twice for the July 7, 2020 trip to my home.
Over the phone on 6-24-2020 we were told $450 for the pickup at***'s of new cabinet, install and haulaway of old cabinet. I was not told go to your computer we have emailed you a copy of our quote.
When I talked to a female clerk on July 6, 2020, she surprised me by adding $59 to the quote. This brought the amount to $509 versus original quote of $450.
On page 3 of Oak Run Homeowners 2020 Community Directory Johnson Brothers Plumbing runs a full page ad stating among other things: "UPFRONT PRICING - No Surprises!" The staff did not send a written copy over the phone and I accepted the offer of $450. "COURTEOUS STAFF" It was discourteous and unprofessional of Mark to enter my home on 7-7-2020 and say: "I DID NOT AGREE TO THIS." AD also says "ON TIME READY TO WORK" MARK DID NOT SOUND READY TO WORK WHEN HE ENTERED MY HOME. "SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!!!" "COURTEOUS STAFF - ALWAYS EAGER TO HELP" None of the staff is willing to return the $59 and none were polite except Tom C and Dawson. I was surprised when the phone clerk added $59 to the bill of $450 and even went back to look up the bill of 6-24-2020 in the amount of $270 she agreed the $50 trip charge was added.
I think one of the owners should get involved in this. If Florida has small claims court I am willing to enter small claims court with my ad Johnsons Brothers places in our directory as well as the bills. All of this is done on line and customers do not see any of it until after conversations.
I want a definite reason as to why two trip charges were given on 7-7-2020, Neither Mark Nor Dawson left my home once they arrived. ***'s is right on the way to my home. Johnsons' staff has not tried to explain why I was billed twice for one trip and why a phone clerk would go back and look up a bill that had been and cleared my bank 12 days earlier. She was not interest in scheduling a time for Johnsons to come to my home and Mark said this is the slow season. They arrived the next day so it could not have been that busy. I would like one or both of the owners to address tge over billing of $59 for one trip and not telling me of the $59 in the original quote of 6-24-90 which was submitted over the phone Tom C held in his hand as was my *** payment both days.
In response to the most recent communication, we did clarify the additional $59 was for picking up Ms. vanity at***s. She was informed of this multiple times. However, the owner had agreed to provide the credit and it was mailed last week.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I received the check. However, the office staff does not understand the original quote was for only $450 and they were to pickup new vanity from,***s, Install new vanity, haul old vanity away. I could not have hired Johnson's had they stated in the beginning picking up the vanity was not a part of the agreement.
I have the check for $59. I will deposit it and not do business with Johnson's again. The office staff should review the ad they placed in Oak Run HOA Directory, It states "No surprises" Up front cost given in advance. If office staff had complied with this there would never have been a omplaint. The staff also did not offer or show a senior discount. In the end they price was higher than other firms I called. The case can now be closed.
