I recently spoke to Mr. [redacted] , I told him that if he can find someone to grind the floor for 3,000$ then ill pay half of that, 1,500$. Nothing I did during the finishing process made ***'s floor delaminate. I have poured almost 600 yards of floors this year and had no issues, the only difference... with ***'s floor was that it was poured directly on styrofoam. His floor so far this year is only one to have problems because of the foam. When you pour concrete directly on foam, all the water has to come to the surface and that's not good for the concrete. I should have informed [redacted] of this, but it happens very rarely. I feel that I'm not responsible for what happened, all the steps I took to finish his floor are the same ones I do on every floor and I never have any issues.
MrSaracina contacted a company (***) who performs these type of repairs by grindingMr *** made a site visit and quoted $to grind down the bad concreteBased on all technical information available and discussion with other contractors, this problem resulted from the work performed by MrSaracinahe installed the concrete slab that has failed on the surfaceThis problem is caused by improper finishing by not allowing proper bleed off of water and airAs explained by other concrete contractors, it was also likely compounded by the very wet mix of concrete during the pourMrSaracina should be responsible to fully pay for this repair
