Review: When we purchased a house with a swimming pool approximately 9 years ago, the agency did a hard sell on umbrella policy. This past year, they no longer offered this type of product. Then we started getting bills for an alternative. We never signed anything saying we wanted the policy, and when I contacted the agency, [redacted] Davies said they could save us more money and asked me to measure our house - which I never did. I made it pretty clear that we were not interested in the umbrella replacement for the reason that we had never discussed it. Yesterday, we received a notice from a credit collection agency for the $65.31 for the replacement policy. We have been allstate customers for over 25 years. Never did I think I would get billed for something I didn't ask for, and then have the matter turned over to a collection agency before further discussion. Again, I was very clear to [redacted] that I did not want the policy... and he was interested in trying to 'cut my bill' by having me re-measure my house. I think this is shady practice by a sales-first agency.Desired Settlement: We will pay the collection agency before this spirals out of control, but I would like a refund for all costs incurred.
